Rob Reiner as Snake
kevinolzak4 March 2014
"A Man Called Snake" features the unlikely casting of Rob Reiner as the bike gang leader Snake, already a star on ALL IN THE FAMILY, which had premiered nine months earlier. Keith mistakenly gives out the wrong name for a classmate crush of Laurie's, after which this scruffy biker shows up to see if it's him. She takes enough of a liking to him that he gets invited to the school prom! It's certainly amusing to watch Meathead in this role, but he's never convincing. Bryan O'Byrne and Henry Olek, as another biker, would be back in "A Penny for His Thoughts," while Reiner would be replaced by Stuart Margolin as Snake (O'Byrne recast as Snake's father!). The featured song is the bouncy but sadly unreleased "Listen to the Sound," composed by John Michael Hill (Brian Forster's drumming much improved from Jeremy Gelbwaks).
