Quotes

  • Pee-wee Herman : Jambi, are you sure you're feeling okay?

Jambi : Well, I feel all right. How do I look?

[his face breaks out into spots]

Pee-wee Herman : Not so good, Jambi. I think I'd better call the wish doctor.

  • Pee-wee Herman : Hey, Jambi. About my wish.

Jambi : I'm really sorry about your wish, Pee-wee. I know how much you wanted to see Paris.

Pee-wee Herman : I don't care about not seeing Paris, Jambi. Why, will always have Paris. What I really care about is you. I want you to be my genie, whether you can grant me wishes or not.

  • Pee-wee Herman : [reading the wish doctor ad in the Puppetland directory]  Dr. Jinga-Janga, specializing in all types of genie-ology. Twenty-four-hour emergency service. All major credit cards welcome. Se habla Español. 555-5555.

  • Pee-wee Herman : Randy, you've wrecked the whole show. Way to go!

    [everyone barks]

Randy : I was just playin'. I didn't mean any harm.

Pee-wee Herman : Randy, I believe you owe everyone in the Playhouse a sincere and formal apology.

Randy : Isn't that kind of a severe punishment?

Pee-wee Herman : Hmm. Come on, Randy. Apologize.

Randy : Oh, all right. I'm sorry, everybody.

Pee-wee Herman : No. You're very, very, very sorry.

Randy : I'm very, very, very sorry.

Pee-wee Herman : And you promise you'll never, ever, ever, ever, never do it again.

Randy : And I promise never to... Uh, what was that last part again?

Pee-wee Herman : Ever, ever, ever, never...

Randy : Ever, ever, ever, never...

Pee-wee Herman : ...do it again.

    Randy : ...do it again.

    Pee-wee Herman : You swear?

Randy : Only when I'm mad.

    Pee-wee Herman : Randy!

Randy : Oh, all right. I swear.

Pee-wee Herman : Good. That's better. Now, you can go.

    [everyone barks]

  • Dr. Jinga-Janga : Pee-wee, could I have a word with you for just a moment?

    Pee-wee Herman : Sure.

Dr. Jinga-Janga : You've got a very sick genie on your hands.

Pee-wee Herman : But, I thought you said he was going to be okay.

Dr. Jinga-Janga : Of course. What do you expect me to tell him? The truth?

    Pee-wee Herman : What's wrong with him.

Dr. Jinga-Janga : Jambi is suffering from mecca-leca-hi-mecca-hini-itis.

Pee-wee Herman : Oh, no! Not mecca-leca-hi-mecca-hini-itis! Say it's anything but mecca-leca-hi-mecca-hini-itis! What is mecca-leca-hi-mecca-hini-itis?

Dr. Jinga-Janga : Well, in layman's terms, he's suffering from genie burnout. His strain and pressure for granting someone's every wish and desire can become a burden to anyone, even a genie.

Pee-wee Herman : Gosh. Is there anything I can do?

Dr. Jinga-Janga : Well, you can start by letting him know that you appreciate the things he does for you.

Pee-wee Herman : I do. I thank him every time he grants me a wish.

Dr. Jinga-Janga : Yes, and that's fine, Pee-wee. But isn't that the only time?

    Pee-wee Herman : Hmm?

Dr. Jinga-Janga : A kind remark or a word of thanks makes everyone feel better, but not just for when they do something for you. It's nice to let them know that you appreciate them and like them just for who they are.

Pee-wee Herman : I think I understand. Even though we really like someone a lot, sometimes we forget to tell them how much we like them and appreciate them. Right?

Dr. Jinga-Janga : Precisely! Do that, and everyone feels good just like magic.

Pee-wee Herman : Thanks, Dr. Jinga-Janga. That's really good advice for anybody.
