In 1966, "Bonanza" was one of the most popular shows on network television, and was broadcast on Sunday nights from 9 to 10 P.M. Eastern time. "Perry Mason"'s final season (1965-66) aired on Sunday nights at 9 Eastern time, head-to-head against "Bonanza".
Although she was 83 at the time this final Perry Mason episode aired, Estelle Winwood would go on to guest star in many other series before her death at age 101.
The episode features several members of the crew in cameo roles. Former actress Gail Patrick, who plays a courtroom spectator, was the show's executive producer, and had been from the very first episode.
