It's lonely there at the top....especially today!

"Police Story" was a great show. It featured mostly stand alone movies (a few characters were repeated here and there) depicting a wide variety of police jobs and situations...much wider than you'd ever see on other police shows. In this installment, it focuses on the police Chief, Sam McCullough (John Forsythe) and a particularly tough day at the office. It begins with a cop, a long-time friend of the Chief, getting into a predicament--his mistress shoots herself with his gun! Talk about a public relations nightmare!! But it gets much worse, as there is credible evidence that a maniac might be stalking him and plans on shooting him or someone else when McCullough is to make a community appearance that evening! Can it get worse? Well, a local politician with aspirations on becoming governor wants McCullough to do him a little favor...an illegal and unethical one. And, if he doesn't do it, there will be hell to pay! Another typical day at the office, huh?!

Normally, cop show never even let you see the Chief...let alone even mention them. This is yet another very original and entertaining installment...made better because it helps humanize the Chief and Forsythe is very good in the role.
