The episode largely stemmed from Writer/Producer Deborah Pratt's longtime desire to see Sam leap into an African-American woman.
This is the only episode of the series that Sam leaps in as an African-American woman. Sam has been an African-American man in several episodes.
This episode takes place in Chicago, Illinois from April 7 to April 9, 1963.
