Double Identity - November 8, 1965
Prismark1024 February 2020
This was the second episode filmed but pushed back to later in the season.

I can see why. It is an episode that is unsure of itself. It starts off as a pastiche of The Godfather and then confused as to how it will resolve the story as it has tied itself in knots because of the people Sam has leapt into.

Sam leaps into a mafia enforce, Frankie La Palma and he is making love to Teresa who is a hairdresser and squeeze of crime boss, Don Geno Frascotti.

Don Geno is not happy that Teresa might be cheating on him. Meanwhile Al thinks that Sam needs to be responsible for a major power cut as well as bring Frankie and Teresa together.

The story has a lot going for it. Sam is lost at first and he needs to sing at the wedding in Italian. There is some good comedy as well as peril in this one.

this is a pretty interesting episode.

SAM ending up quantum leaping in a mob guy who falls for the mob boss's mistress i thinking that what she was but really loves the guy SAM first quantum leaps into.

i wonder if SAM was glad that he did not have to kill anyone knowing who he leaping into. Sam did at the end leap into the mob boss.

I hope the guy Sam first leaped into lived happily ever after.

i am try the best i can with a comment an i'm still not getting in.

what do they want from me i do not know what else to write about this episode.

Godfather riff

Warning: Spoilers
Here's a story which happily riffs on THE GODFATHER as Sam finds himself in the body of a Mafia hitman who just so happens to be having an affair with his own boss's paramour. It's rather straightforward and broad for much of the running time, throwing a few twists on the formula with the power cut which is a nice touch. The highlight? Sam revealing his fine singing voice - turns out Bakula had a prior career in music.
