Episode #3.5

Another good episode. I especially like the story between Justin, Brian and Ethan. I actually agree with Brian a lot here. It was very selfish of Justin to expect Ethan to stay poor for him. This sure isn't love. It is not like they had to break up and it would only be for the beginning.

I really wonder where Ted and Emmett are going. I can't believe them staying together until the end of the show. And now they basically have the house! This may make their break up story more difficult.

I also like what is being done with Ben and Michael. This is a very interesting conflict and acted very well by both of them. Also loved Michael's issues with getting his sperm for Mel, was very entertaining

"I'M GOING HOME TO WHACK OFF AND THAT'S THE LAST ANYONE NEEDS TO HEAR ABOUT IT!" ~Michael

This was another fabulous episode of Queer as Folk, and I'm happy to say that despite what I've been hearing about the later seasons, the third season has been really solid so far. The beginning was amazing with the simultaneous occurrence of both Ethan's musical performance and Michael's "performance" for Melanie and Lindsay. Emmett and Ted have trouble settling on a house, but the end of the episode is positively cute for the both of them. Ben and Michael are a different story, though, with Ben exploding in anger at every little thing and of course the scene where Michael discovers Ben shooting himself up with steroids. The song "Barbie Girl" was used in an awesome contrast to the events that were occurring at that time, and the confrontation between Ethan and Brian in which he tells him that there's "nothing noble about being poor" was very well-written and well-acted indeed. The ending, however, really brought a tear to my eye. I can see why Brian is so ruthless sometimes, but other times it's really difficult to forgive him for certain things he does. He's especially sour toward Justin in certain instances, and the way that he treated Justin in the end was just uncalled for. I'm not so sure now that the two of them will ever get back together. I can't wait to see more!
