- Gil Favor: Better keep talking, they're still up there.
- Wishbone: I don't know what to say.
- Thomas Jefferson Wishbone: Tell 'em how goodlooking I am.
- Wishbone: We was both goodlooking, the both of us.
- Thomas Jefferson Wishbone: Tell 'em about my character.
- Wishbone: Like I was saying, Lord, he was a good man. And he could ride a horse like nothing you'd ever saw. He was always good to women, and children, and widows, and especially widows. And fast on the draw, oh Lord, how he could draw. But only in the cause of righteousness. Are they still there, Mr Favor?
- Gil Favor: Yeah.
- Thomas Jefferson Wishbone: You'd better start shovelling, or they'll never leave.
- Gil Favor: All right, stake him in.
- Wishbone: And bless this drive, O Lord.
- Thomas Jefferson Wishbone: You don't have to do it like you mean it.
- Wishbone: Looks like you got an answer for everything, Well, any man's that's gotta pull himself up in the world by the seat of his pants the way you did. You got yourself a little spread. I don't see why you gotta lose it because you can't play poker the way you think you can. So, Mr Favor, if you gave him back his deed, well, you can take what he owes out of my wages.
- Gil Favor: It takes three things to make a trail drive: cattle, horses and men. And some say two because a man without a horse is no man at all. There are mornin's when I think a horse without a man would be better. I should know men by now, but I keep learnin'. I'm Gil Favor, trail boss.
- Rowdy Yates: Would you believe Wishbone has a brother.
- Pete Nolan: [He doesn't look up from his needle and thread] It's kinda stretching it to think the Good Lord would make another one like him after making his first mistake.
- Wishbone: You lead an interesting life, Little Brother.
- Thomas Jefferson Wishbone: I'll pay you back the three dollars soon as I get strength enough to open my war bag.
- Wishbone: Well, I hope you got strength enough to explain a few other things. Seeing as how you're not a tinker, just what are you, Little Brother.
- Thomas Jefferson Wishbone: Not now, Little Brother. You never saw such a tuckered out man as I am.
- Wishbone: Well, all right. Get in the wagon and I'll call you up for supper.
- Thomas Jefferson Wishbone: Thanks, Little Brother.
- Pete Nolan: I know there's a lot more healthy things to do than kill Indians when you're in Indian territory.
- Sgt. Gregory: You better pray that we get that treaty signed or there won't be any trail that's safe, not Sedalia, not Chisholm, not Goodnight, not any of them.
- Wishbone: I know you mean well, but you all got six hands when it comes to saying something nice to a person.
- Wishbone: TJ Wishbone, well, that's an important name. Politics, business, Law, medicine, you name it and he's important in it.
- Pete Nolan: Is he, ah, human?
- Wishbone: There's not a living thing, man or beast, that he's afraid of. Why, he can outshoot, outride, outguess any man I've ever seen. And that includes me, even if I do say so.
- Pete Nolan: Can he cook as good as you can?
