Powerful war drama
searchanddestroy-18 January 2016
It may look like an adventure yarn and it is, but you also must be prepared to a very good drama, with Richard Boone as a father who investigates about his son's death, killed and not during an ordinary ambush, but rather like an assassination. One more time Boone is more than convincing in this story, so touching. Do not expect too much action sequences and explosions, but this would be useless and remove the quality of the script. Focus on the actors play, that's all. You have in this story some lines, some elements that may let you think of what happened during this year 1964 in South east Asia, the beginning of war in Vietnam, that's my own opinion. The way the local warlords declare that they refuse any interference of Americans of any kind in their intern problems...You can try to watch GO TELL THE SPARTANS, starring Burt Lancaster and directed by Ted Post, to have nearly the same point of view about this very same period. No comment.
