What a bunch of cowards
kfo949412 October 2013
Five years ago, the townsfolk of North Fork rode an outlaw, John Holliver, out of town by rail after an incident. Now Holliver and his gang has returned to North Fork to take revenge for what happened five years ago.

With Marshal Torrance out of town, Lucas is filling in as deputy Marshal. Some of the people in town that were around five years ago, like the hotel clerk, gunsmith and stable man are scared to death about Holliver being after them. Lucas believes that he is here to protect the people and will have a talk with Holliver. But when Lucas talks to Holliver he is not actually after any one person just wants his self-respect back. He agrees to face anyone the town sends to face him at first light. Lucas will be the man and believes that he will have help from the hotel clerk, gunsmith and stable man-- Lucas is wrong.

Love the way the three town's people were all going to stick together until they realized that Holliver was not actually after one particular person. Now they believe it is a law enforcement job and want no part of facing Holliver. The people of the town leave Lucas to face the gang alone.

Nice acting and well written. Good watch.

Lucas channels Gary Cooper in "High Noon"

Well directed by John Lewis; Peter Whitney at his most terrifying.

The brief scene between the two boys at night (Johnny Crawford and Billy Hughes) is really outstanding. Both are upset over the fate of their respective fathers, and both shed real tears in a very impressive, emotional scene. LR
