The name of the village where Snetterton begins his expedition is seen written in three versions, one correct, the other two not. The narrator pronounces it as ke-KEN-ya, and in the title overlay as they arrive, it is spelt correctly: "Quequeña, Peru / May 1927". On a banner welcoming the explorers, it is spelt QUEQUENÃ - the tilde incorrectly placed over the final A - and is seen when the expedition arrives and again later hanging on a building in the village. On a diagrammatic map showing their proposed route over the Andes, it is spelt Quequená.
