- Police Det. Dennis Becker: Let me get this straight: You have a client who has the same name as Herman Goering's HOUSE?
- Police Det. Dennis Becker: Stand over there, please. This is official department memoranda open only to department personnel.
- Jim Rockford: Boy, you talk about the Nazis around you and it rubs off!
- Chief Inspector Jean-Marc Giono: [Chief Inspector Giono is explaining the whole convoluted plot to Rockford, Becker, and Chapman, and not only is it long, it involves many historical figures. Dennis has been scribbling notes furiously] For political reasons, they tried to tie the theft to a Family of Jewish art thrives, who trace their roots to the time of Louis Quatorze.
- Police Det. Dennis Becker: [Looking burnt, and in all sincerity] This guy - Louis Quatorze; you got the spelling on that last name?
- Jim Rockford: This is Jim Rockford. At the tone leave your name and message, I'll get back to you.
- Anonymous Woman: Hey, am I too late for those African goats? Haven't got the whole three hundred cash, but like I've got a lot of homemade cheese... Maybe we could work something out...?
- Jim Rockford: [Jim's helping Rocky bring in some groceries, and when they enter Rocky's house, there's a woman there, doing work] Oh, hey, dad; I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you, this is Daphne Ishawahara. She's gonna help me out on this case. Daphne, this is my father, Jospeh Rockford.
- Daphne Ishawahara: Nice to meet you, Mr Rockford
- [Rocky looks at the big pin, yarn, and notecard- laden board, propped up on the kitchen pass-through counter]
- Daphne Ishawahara: Oh, don't worry about this clutter, I'll pack it away each night.
- Jim Rockford: You know, I've been going 'tapioca' trying to sift through the mass of facts in this case. Remember Paul Macevoy at UCLA? I thought Daphne might help, you know. She's getting her doctorate in, uh, logic.
- Daphne Ishawahara: Frankly, Jim, I don't think we're facing a critical problem, here. What we have to do, is continue to isolate the extraneous factors, go back to the fundamentals of good investigation, and apply Occam's Razor.
- Joseph 'Rocky' Rockford: [Utterly confused] What's that?
- Daphne Ishawahara: That's an empirical dictum. The dictum was postulated by William of Ockham, the British philosopher.
- Joseph 'Rocky' Rockford: You know, you're as good as those folks on those educational TV programs Of course, I never get to watch them, but, I would like to. - my antenna's down.
- Jim Rockford: [Jim runs into Karen Hall at what had been her childhood home. A realtor's showing the 2 around, and as he's explaining the space, Jim hustles Karen off to another room, where he talks in a hushed voice] What I want to know is; where did you come up with that ridiculous alias? I mean, are you nuts? You're running around with a name that one of the biggest Nazis dreamed up for his summer home?
