Betty Thomas guest stars
Jimmy_the_Gent427 October 2018
Betty Thomas, then most famous for Hill Street Blues, is a great guest star in this one. She fits right in with the cast since she was a member of the Second City group in Chicago.

First scene is Betty and Andrea Martin playing a pair of Iowa women that Phil Donahue ignored when they were in the audience of his show.

Joe Flaherty is James Whitmore playing Stooge Larry Fine in the one man show Give Em Hell Larry. Edna Boil is back in a commercial with her new partner, a beer guzzling slob played by John Candy. Another commercial is a for a Playhouse with one act plays with Western cliches.

A funny commercial follows about Catcher In The Rye Rye, a liquor with a statue of a major catcher in the bottle. Jackie Rogers Jr has a promo for his portrayal of his father in Jackie We Hardly Knew Ye. Eugene Levy is hilarious playing Jack Carter in a supporting role.

The Sammy Maudlin Show welcomes Betty Thomas as guest, William B. has also returned after his own show bombed. Betty complains about the questions she is being asked, only about Hill Street Blues and being tall. She says she has a new movie and brings a clip, which turns out to be the whole movie. It's a funny take off on 1930s movies set in the South Sea, it is called South Sea Sinner. Her co stars are Sandler and Young. Sandler gets angry if anyone calls him French. ("I am BELGIAN!" he screams). John Candy plays the owner of a night club that slaps everyone around.

The Days Of Week has Rocco tying up Billy and Mojo. Janet tells May she needs to see a psychiatrist. Rocco shows up at Wainwright's office, hanging out of a 38 story window.

The Schmenges host a Miss Leutonia Beauty Pagent. The contestants have names like Miss Spiced Meats and Miss E-zee Parking.

The final scene is Troy Soren coming out against capital punishment in an editorial.
