Dr. Dove, played by Gene Lockhart, famous for his version of Ebenezer Scrooge, discovers a substance that will arrest aging. It doesn't make us younger; it just arrests it. Of course, in the Cold War time the government sends a bunch of fascist FBI guys to get in the way. They consider advances in science to be dangerous. It turns out that the old guy has been divvying up this stuff with his other elderly colleagues. The law comes in and accuses the professors of being responsible for the disappearances of these men. They manage to screw up just about everything. It was interesting to see Rhodes Reason as one of the invasive cops. Also, we are supposed to feel some sort of admiration for the nurse/assistant who reports the old guy to the authorities. Can anyone say Germany in 1939.
