GETTING TO KNOW THEM...
kj_tenneson3 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was a great follow-up to the pilot episode, and it focused on the development of relationships for the forseeable future.

While Vic & the team are under scrutiny over the bust that 'got Terry killed', Aceveda puts pressure on them directly hoping to find the weak link to bring Vic down. Meanwhile, Dutch & Claudette are working a shooting related to a dispute of a protection racket.

You really get to see how relationships are developing; Vic and Aceveda are pitted against each other, Dutch is desperate to be taken seriously and is jealous of the attention and respect Vic & his team are given, Claudette seems to be the only one outside of the politics of the Barn, Shane looks to Vic for nearly everything - he wants to be an Alpha, but all he can be is the Alpha's friend. And then there's Dani, who is Julienne's training officer, but it's clear she is accepted by the other cops, but is still separate from them, too and it bothers her, meanwhile, Julienne is 'initiated' into the Brotherhood of Blue through some rather crude means. And to spite all Vic's bravado, he's being haunted by memories of Terry before he knew he was an informant.

This episode is good, but it's 'story/case' of the week feels like it's part of something bigger. That's the thing with this show, it's oddly not always episodic; sometimes it's just a chapter in a much larger picture.

Our Gang (#1.2)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the aftermath of the death of the detective Crowley.

Aceveda is pretty sure that Vic has something to do with it. I wonder where he got this idea to begin with. He is obviously right but what made him know so much about Vic and just not being able to prove it. I bet we will find out about some big thing that happened in the past.

I liked the interrogation they made in this episode. Both with Vic and even more with Shane. He really was about to crack. Will Aceveda soon get everything that he wanted? We'll see. I am kind of rooting for him now but maybe my opinion will change when the show progresses and we get to know them more.

Warning: Spoilers
The Shield continues the following story line where it left off. We get to see Vic Mackey horrific and clever way portraying an hurt man that saw Terry go down by 2Time but it is how it happened the opposite way. Vic shooting Terry in front of Shane. Now we get to see the great performance by Walton Goggins in this very episode.

Great performances !

I love the opening in the hospital when every body is waiting and clinging on, except Vic is hoping it to be over already , chewing his gum. When Terry is announced dead we get to see him taking the limelight of coming forward on quote '' I am responsible '' , yes you are responsibe but he is never gonna admit it ! That is some gritty television !

Vic fooling the IAD investigation to Terry's shooting, strike team as of Lemansky and Ronnie have no clue of what happened what so ever, it is the Vic and Shane act one sin.

Acaveda trying to crack Shane with Dutch, with a classic twitching eye lie test.

Also Vic shooting Crowley lays a good shadow on Sofer character, she teaching rookie Julien that he was not there at the hospital when the other cop was dying. Perfect little moment.

Funny scenes: Somebody revealing Claudettes birthday that being Dutch and her getting toothpaste for a gift , Dutchboy shaking the vendor machine, Claudette reminding Julien not to spill the crime scene ( that is how the killers go free )
