Steve is asked by Margaret Winslow if he has any relatives, to which he answers, "None living." It is not explained if this means that his mother and stepfather, Helen and Jim Elgin (played by Martha Scott and Ford Rainey) had died sometime prior to this episode, or if they were being written out of the series, as The Bionic Woman (1976) had moved to a NBC and the Elgins had become recurring characters on that series prior to its switching networks.
Steve claims that he doesn't believe in psychic phenomena, but he's encountered the paranormal in the episodes "Operation:Firefly", "The ESP Spy", "Hocus Pocus", and "The Ghostly Teletype".
Linda Dano's second appearance on the series. In both appearances, she portrayed an expert on Paranormal Psychology (see previous episode "The Ghostly Teletype").
It is revealed that when Steve crashed before his bionics were installed, he died for fifty-two seconds, and was then brought back to life. This episode explored the supernatural events that Steve's spirit left his body when he died, and has been roaming free for five years.
