- Pussy returns after months in hiding, Chris starts a boiler room stock operation, and Tony's long-lost sister shows up on the doorstep.
- With Uncle Junior still in jail, Tony has taken over the family. He's surprised when Big Pussy returns from hiding in Puerto Rico, but after some hesitation he is welcomed back into the fold. Tony begins settling accounts elsewhere however. Dr. Melfi is seeing her patients in a dingy motel and wants nothing to do with Tony Soprano. This is bad news for him as he's starting to have blackouts again. Meanwhile Christopher is operating a boiler room selling cheap or non-existent stocks to unwary investors but some of the men he has working for him lack the finesse you might normally expect. Tony's sister Janice appears out of the blue after many years absence. He's not pleased when he realizes her plans.—garykmcd
- Several months after the last episode ends, Tony seems to be in charge: Junior is in prison, while Livia is hospitalized following a stroke. Chris gets his broker's license (by having someone else take the exam for him), and begins his own company pumping worthless stocks to gullible investors. One morning Tony is surprised by the return of Pussy, who was hiding out in Puerto Rico fearing that Tony had lost trust in him. After some initial misgivings, Pussy is welcomed back by all his associates. Meanwhile Tony's long-lost sister Janice shows up looking for a place to stay. This leads Tony to hold a family reunion, where it becomes clear that nobody is sorry that Livia isn't able to join the party.—Jean-Marc Rocher <rocher@fiberbit.net>
- The episode begins in a classroom where several students are sitting in front of computers. An administrator sits at the front of the classroom. He tells them that this is the MASD Series 7 Stockbrokers Exam that will test their abilities on stocks and bonds. The administrator states that this is the room where students M-Z should be. He says that the test is in two parts with each part taking three hours. The instructor starts to call out the names of the people that should be in the classroom. One of the names called is Christopher Moltisanti. However, when we see the person that raises their hand, we can obviously tell that it is not Christopher. Someone was paid to take the test for Christopher. We then cut to multiple scenes of life going on several months since Junior's crew was either killed or arrested. Livia is still in the hospital recovering from the stroke that she had. She lies in her bed all alone staring into the abyss. At the Bada Bing, Tony is playing a game of Solitaire when Paulie and Curto come in with some money for Tony from collections. At the FBI office, Junior's picture is taken off of the wall and put down with the list of people that have been arrested. Tony's picture is put at the top and the capo under his name has been crossed out and replaced with Street Boss. Carmela cooks some meals for the family while Junior is led to his meal time in jail. Out of a motel, Dr. Melfi is still providing for her patients by having them meet with her there instead of her regular office. At a clothes store, Silvio tries on some new shoes and tuxedos while AJ stares in the mirror in his room and combing his hair in a new fashion. While Livia does some therapy at the hospital, Paulie makes love to one of the strippers in the back of the Bada Bing. At his apartment, Christopher watches a Mafia movie while snorting drugs. The next day, Tony takes Meadow out for her driving lesson in the parking lot. He later visits Irina and the two make love on his boat, the Stugots. When Tony arrives home late, he does a load of laundry so that Carmela won't smell Irina's scent on his clothing. He goes to bed and Carmela turns over in the bed waking up. She stares at him and Tony briefly opens his eyes to stare at Carmela. The two share a brief look, but Carmela quickly closes her eyes and turns facing away from Tony. The next morning, Tony gets out of bed and walks down his driveway to get the morning paper. When he picks it up, he sees a Buick parked near his house. Tony fears that someone might be trying to kill him again. When the door opens, a man steps out and Tony starts to run back towards his house. The man calls out to Tony and turns out to be Pussy. Tony stops running and asks Pussy where he's been. Pussy asks Tony if he can talk to him. Tony tells Pussy to come into the house so they can talk. Pussy tells Tony that he wants his word that he will leave his house alive. Tony is angry at Pussy and states that Pussy left months ago with no word for why and this is how he's come back. Pussy asks Tony again for his word, but Tony picks up his paper and goes back inside. Pussy comes inside the house to see Tony standing in the kitchen. Tony offers Pussy coffee, but Pussy rejects it. Tony notes that Pussy is tanned, but Pussy isn't in the mood for Tony's witty remarks. Pussy tells Tony that he's back and tanned, but he's in a nightmare right now. Pussy tells Tony that he is angry that he is treating him this way and states that all of his friends started to turn their backs on him right before he left. Tony tells Pussy to calm down and assures him that he knows that he is not stupid. Pussy feels insulted that Tony would label him as a rat to the crew. He states that he knew something was up when Tony came to his house that afternoon and told him that he was his friend. Carmela calls downstairs and asks Tony who he's talking to. Tony tells Pussy that they should finish their conversation in the basement. In the basement, Tony gives Pussy a shove and tells him that he is the one that owes the explanation. Pussy tells Tony that it isn't his fault that he got sick and his back was killing him. Pussy states that he, Paulie, and Silvio all feel that weakness is a sign of treason. Tony yells at Pussy to stop complaining about his back and reminds him who the boss of the family is. Tony notes that with Pussy leaving town it labeled him as the rat immediately. Pussy tells Tony that it was over a woman and it got complicated. Pussy tells Tony that when his back was killing him he went to a spinal doctor and hooked up with her. He states that was the reason he was taking all of the Percocet. Pussy states that his doctor prescribed a clinic in Puerto Rico for him to go to and he didn't object because of the issues that he was having with the crew. Tony asks Pussy why he wouldn't tell Angie he was in the hospital. Pussy tells Tony that Angie was being her usual self and he was angry with her for her questioning. Pussy tells Tony he met an acupuncturist that helped him with his back there. Pussy is very insulted that Tony would take Makazian's word over his. Carmela calls down into the basement and again asks Tony who he's talking to. Tony doesn't answer her. Tony asks Pussy why he came back to New Jersey. Pussy says that nothing changed and he still has two kids in college with another married. Pussy says he needs to get back in the game and start earning again. Tony states that it isn't exactly easy to get back in the game immediately. Pussy tells Tony he came to him and he's in his hand. Carmela calls down to Tony and tells him to bring up two cases of bottled water. Tony stays silent for a minute and then tells Pussy to come over to him. Tony gives Pussy a hug and feels him over for a wire. Pussy knows that Tony is being suspicious and asks him if he's going to touch his groin region next. Tony apologizes and gives Pussy another legitimate hug. He then pulls Pussy closer to him and warns him never to do anything like that again. The two go upstairs and sit in the living room. Pussy tells Tony that he heard about Junior's indictment. Tony says that Junior has 12 RICO charges against him. Pussy asks Tony who is running Junior's crew. Tony states that Philly Spoons Parisi stepped up to take over the crew. Elsewhere, Philly Spoons prepares to go pick up Gigi Cestone from the airport. His wife asks him not to forget the pastries while he's out. At the airport, Paulie and Cestone pull up in another car in front of the airport. Paulie hands Cestone a suitcase and warns him not to lose it. Paulie drives away. Cestone waits out in front of the airport and Philly Spoons arrives to pick him up. Philly Spoons hopes that Cestone wasn't waiting very long and Cestone assures him that his flight was late. Cestone thanks Philly Spoons for picking him up. Philly Spoons states that Cestone just came off of the lam and every ally counts. Philly Spoons asks Cestone how Boston was. Cestone says that Boston was great for awhile, but he realizes that it gets old after awhile. Philly Spoons compares Boston to Scranton except that it has clams. Cestone asks Philly Spoons if anything has changed since he returned. Philly Spoons says that everything is the same. Cestone notes he did hear something about Tony and Livia. Philly Spoons tells Cestone that Tony put Livia in a nursing home and Junior was not in support of that. Philly Spoons reveals to Cestone that Tony tried to suffocate Livia in the nursing home. Cestone tells Philly Spoons that it might be a bad idea to spread that type of a rumor. Philly Spoons assures Cestone that he is the only one that he's telling. Philly Spoons also tells Cestone that Tony was seeing a psychiatrist and he says that it is embarrassing that Tony is leading them now. The car pulls up next to a house. Philly Spoons tells Cestone that he's home. Cestone pulls out a gun and shoots Philly Spoons twice in the head. Cestone gets out of the car and grabs Paulie's bag. He gets in Paulie's car and Paulie and Cestone drive away from the murder scene. It is revealed that Cestone used to be one of Junior's soldiers, but defected over to Tony's side. Because Philly Spoons had been spreading rumors, Tony had Cestone kill him under the pretense of returning from a trip because Philly Spoons wouldn't suspect Cestone would kill him since they were allies. At a payphone later that night, Tony picks up the ringing phone to find out from Silvio that Philly Spoons has been killed. At the motel, Dr. Melfi listens as a patient tells her that he thinks his wife is seeing someone. Dr. Melfi tells the patient that they are at the end of their session. The patient asks Dr. Melfi when her office is going to be up. Dr. Melfi tells him that the carpet has to be laid down and then it will be done. The patient tells Dr. Melfi his old therapist used to work out of his home. He leaves. Dr. Melfi goes back inside and gets a phone call from Tony. Tony tells Dr. Melfi that it is now safe for her to come back home. Dr. Melfi asks Tony how he got her number and asks if someone is watching her. Tony hangs up the phone. Dr. Melfi looks around outside, but doesn't see anyone. At Webistics, Christopher is enjoying his paid no show job as United States Securities and Exchange Commission Compliance Officer. He is sleeping in his office when Adriana comes in and gives him a kiss. Christopher asks Adriana what time it is. Adriana jokes around that Christopher is the boss and she is awaiting his instructions. Christopher doesn't like the job and tells Adriana that the work is tedious. Adriana notes that Christopher is the boss so if he wants to go down to the shore he can go. Christopher agrees with her reasoning. He walks outside and sees his co-worker, Matthew Bevilaqua. He tells Bevilaqua to watch over the place while he's away. Bevilaqua's friend, Sean Gismonte, gives him a cup of coffee. The two walk over to another worker who is on the phone. Gismonte spills coffee on the worker's head and berates him for not pushing for Webistics. The worker retorts he was only giving the customer alternatives. Bevilaqua states that Webistics is the stock they need to be selling. The worker notes that Webistics technology is two years behind and isn't doing well on the stocks. Bevilaqua throws his cup of coffee into the worker's face and they proceed to kick him repeatedly. The manager comes out and orders Bevilaqua and Gismonte to stop what they are doing. The manager states that he still runs the place and what the men are doing is unacceptable. Bevilaqua grabs a pair of scissors and puts them to the manager's throat. He tells him to get back into the office and then tells the rest of the workers that if they have a problem with Webistics then they need to leave. Later, Tony receives a visit from his lawyer, Neil Mink and Hesh. Mink thanks Tony for the Webistics idea and he thinks that it will be a huge hit. Tony asks Mink for some information. Mink tells Tony that Junior is trying to petition to get out of jail for medical reasons. Tony states that would be fine with him. Mink is aware that Tony might want to take out a hit on Junior, but advises him against it because the courts are looking to try and charge him with any RICO offenses they can. Tony states that the way to run the family in this day and age is in a bunker style where the leader remains hidden. The phone rings and Tony takes the call. Carmela tells Tony that she has some news for him and reveals that his sister, Janice Soprano, is back in town. Tony thinks she's kidding, but Carmela states that Janice is here. Tony mutters that he is going to be $5,000 less rich when Janice leaves and he wonders what kind of a scam she is pulling. Tony tells Carmela that Janice can stay with them for now and he thinks he's going to try and get Barbara to come down for a family reunion. Carmela notes that Livia isn't welcome for this family reunion and Tony states that she read his mind completely. After the phone is hung up, Tony tells Mink and Hesh that Janice is visiting from Seattle. At the Bada Bing, Silvio walks in to find Pussy has returned. Silvio notes that he is surprised that Pussy didn't lose weight from the nice weather. Tony, Paulie, and Curto are also there. Silvio asks Pussy if he's aware of how many people were out looking for him when it left town. Pussy states that Tony explained everything to him. Curto asks Pussy if he heard about Altieri. Pussy did hear that Altieri was the rat. He asks them about his payments and collections and asked if they weren't paid. Paulie tells Pussy that they made his pickups and they are waiting for him. Pussy thanks all of them for doing that. Paulie says that some things were lost and Tony adds that they did what they could with the information they had. The men toast to Pussy's return. Pussy tells Silvio that he's been gone for awhile and he wants him to do The Godfather impressions. Silvio does the impressions from The Godfather and The Godfather Part III. Silvio then does the quote from The Godfather stating that their true enemy has yet to reveal himself. Silvio tells Tony that he doesn't want to break up this nice gathering, but he has to tell Tony some news. He tells him about Bevilaqua and Gismonte sending one of the workers to the emergency room. Tony tells Silvio to call Christopher and tell him to meet with him. On the dance floor, Paulie meets up with Tony and informs him that the clinic in Puerto Rico has confirmed that Pussy was there so his story checks out. Paulie leaves, but Tony still isn't completely satisfied with everything that he has heard. The next morning at the Soprano residence, Carmela asks Janice how the guest bed was. Janice says that it was fine, but she misses her pillow that was stolen from her at the bus stop. Tony comes downstairs and Janice gives him a hug. Tony tells Janice that she looks like a teenager and Janice tells him that her therapist told her that she has been regressing lately. Tony is stunned to learn Janice has a therapist and asks her how she affords it. Janice states that Washington tax payers pay for her therapy and she is on total disability. Janice says that it was a result of her carpel tunnel. Tony leans in to kiss Carmela, but she pulls away from him. Tony asks everyone what smells. Janice says that she made seaweed soup for everyone to eat. Janice says she needs to go outside for a minute and jokes to Tony not to go near her soup. Janice says that Tony may laugh now, but he'll be eating her soup by the end of the day. Carmela notes that Tony hasn't seen Janice in years and now he's going to start off their newfound relationship on a diet. Tony says that Janice gives as good as she can get. Outside, Janice is smoking a blunt of marijuana. Tony goes outside to share it with her. Tony tells Janice that she really does look sensational. Janice tells Tony that he should be very proud of AJ and Meadow. Tony states that he is proud of them even with the genes that they inherited. Tony asks Janice if she is still together with Ralph. Janice states that she isn't and informs him that Ralph moved back to Andorra. Janice tells Tony that he seems happy now. Tony states that things are well for him these days. Janice asks how Livia is doing. Tony tells Janice that Livia is dead to him. Janice tells Tony that she doesn't want to get in the way because of the fact that Tony was the one that stayed around to take care of Livia and nobody will forget that. Tony retorts that Janice forgot about Livia for twenty years and notes that Barbara did pitch in to help. Janice is willing to admit the mistakes she has made in life, but she adds that Livia can't stay in the hospital forever. Tony tells Janice that he heard from the doctors that Livia had a conversion reaction stroke which is a stroke that is caused by repressed rage. Janice says that no matter what happened Livia is still unable to take care of herself. Tony states that Livia is safe from him while she's at the hospital. Janice says it isn't her business to discern who did what, but she knows that Livia is bewildered by it all. She tells Tony that it's her turn to step in and take care of Livia which is why she returned. Tony warns Janice that Livia is the devil. Janice says that Livia is just a frightened old woman right now. She asks Tony for a couple hundred dollars to fix her car and allow her to drive back and forth to the hospital. She says that she'll take Livia home to her house tomorrow. Tony tells Janice that isn't going to happen and informs her that Livia's house was put on the market for sale. Tony tells Janice that he is glad that she is here and tells her that if she wants to take care of Livia then she can. He hands Janice some money and warns her that this is the last time they are to mention Livia in the house. Janice agrees to that and the two hug. Christopher meets up with Tony at the Bada Bing. Tony grabs Christopher's face and asks him what is going on down at the SEC. Tony tells Christopher he heard about Bevilaqua and Gismonte beating up a worker and he informs Christopher that two other workers have quit because of this incident. Christopher retorts that the worker wasn't pushing Webistics. Tony tells Christopher that they can't be attracting negative attention and notes that things could get worse if they don't handle it. Christopher promises Tony that he'll make sure it doesn't happen again. Tony tells Christopher to go to the SEC and take care of the job. He tells Christopher that he needs to spend more time at the SEC because he is the commission's officer there. Christopher agrees and apologizes. Tony accepts his apology and leaves. Later, Tony and Carmela meet with a real estate agent. The agent tells them that she can't sell the house in the condition that it is in. She notes that some high school kids came by and trashed the house. There are several broken windows, a sink was left on, and the toilets are a disaster. Tony wishes that they could catch the kids that did this and wonders why kids think they are tough after they break a few windows. Carmela tells Tony to calm down and notes that Barbara and the kids are coming down soon. Carmela tells Tony that she needs him to pick up some sausage for the party. Tony is bothered by that and Carmela tells him not to complain because the reunion was his idea. Carmela states that her parents are also coming to the party. Tony notes that since Livia isn't invited it is apparent that Carmela's parents will do everything to be involved with their lives. Carmela retorts that Livia has said hurtful things to her parents over the years. Tony tells Carmela that Livia is dead to him. Carmela tells Tony not to mope his way through the situation. Tony notes that he has been in a great mood lately. Carmela tells Tony that he needs to start the therapy again and notes that she sees him self-medicating. Tony tells Carmela he is not going back to therapy. The agent tells Tony and Carmela that they need to see what the teenagers did to Livia's bedroom and the three go upstairs to survey the damage. At the SEC, Christopher tells the manager that Bevilaqua and Gismonte are young guys that are not used to the pressures of the job yet. Christopher promises the manager that this won't happen again. He calls Bevilaqua and Gismonte into his office. Christopher tells them to refresh his memories on Webistics. Bevilaqua states that they have four hundred thousand shares into Webistics and if they can get more support the shares will go from sixty cents to an even higher margin. Christopher tells the men that they haven't been in the business that long to understand things. Bevilaqua and Gismonte argue that they know what they are doing, but Christopher states that in business they can't just squeeze all of the money out of a person at once. Bevilaqua asks Christopher when they are going to empty the Webistics stock. Christopher tells them that he will let them know when the time comes. Christopher warns Bevilaqua and Gismonte to move their concentration two towns over to try and get supporters and tells them that he wants a taste of the action. The two men agree to keep Christopher informed. Janice and Meadow arrive at the hospital to visit with Livia. Meadow comes into the room to give Livia her supper and Janice tells Livia she needs to go downstairs for a minute. Livia complains that Janice has spent the whole day relaxing in the elevator. Meadow helps to feed Livia her supper, but Livia doesn't want to eat. Meadow insists that Livia should eat, but Livia just asks Meadow to let her die. Livia says that she saw the light and voices were calling her into the heavens. Meadow asks Livia what is going on between her and Tony. Livia asks Meadow what's going on at home. Meadow tells Livia that Tony won't mention her at all in the house. Livia states that Tony blames her for everything that happens. Meadow wishes that their family would just get along. Livia states that can't happen because some people in the family don't want to try. She tells Meadow to always listen to what Tony tells her to do. Meadow gives Livia a hug and promises Livia that she won't leave her at the hospital and that her parents cannot stop her from visiting. Livia tells Meadow to look in the drawer and take the item out that she sees. It's a ring and Meadow realizes its Livia's grandmother's ring. Livia sobs and tells Meadow that she won't forget her if she has that. In the car, Tony drives while he listens to Smoke on the Water. He jams along to the tune, but the CD starts to skip. Tony tries to take the CD out and then hits the CD player repeatedly and yells for it to come out. Finally, the CD player quits working. When Tony looks up, everything is blurry and his car veers off the road. His car hits the barrier in front of a telephone pole and he blacks out from another panic attack. At a therapist's office, Tony tells the therapist, Dr. D'Alessio, that he told his family that he was broadsided, but he knows that he passed out behind the wheel. Tony tells Dr. D'Alessio about the falling out with Livia and he thought that things had been going well. Dr. D'Alessio asks Tony what happened between him and Livia. Tony tells him that it was an unfortunate situation with a lot of screaming and profanity. Tony says that things were good and then Janice came home. Dr. D'Alessio wonders if Tony has issues with sibling rivalry since Janice is his older sister, but Tony says that isn't what's going on. He does note that his stress could interfere in his work. Dr. D'Alessio asks Tony what kind of work he is in. Tony tells him that he's in waste management. Dr. D'Alessio reveals that he does watch the news and he knows who Tony is. He says he doesn't need the ramifications of treating him like the therapist in Analyze This. Tony chuckles and notes that Analyze This was a comedy. Dr. D'Alessio tells Tony he is simply not taking on any new patients. The family get together has begun and Tony is out back cooking. Janice welcomes her and Tony's younger sister, Barbara, as she enters as well as Barbara's husband, Tom. Tony comes in and the three siblings hug each other. Carmela is happy to see the three of them so happy. Later, Carmela is in the kitchen with her parents, Hugh and Mary De Angelis. Mary is very disapproving of Janice's lifestyle in the commune. Carmela notes to Mary that Janice will still answer by her own name. Mary tells Hugh to go pick up some canned pears at the store. Hugh asks Mary if she wants Dole pears, but Mary states that she shouldn't have to answer that. Carmela tells Hugh that there is a new store just down the road. Mary is glad that Livia isn't at the party and notes that Livia is probably trying to act like the dearest mother in the world. She asks Carmela if she remembers what Livia told her on her wedding day. She says that she remembered it was a mistake and Tony would get bored with her. Carmela says nothing. In the backyard, Silvio and Pussy are catching up with friends while Tony continues to cook. Janice and Barbara sit down in some lounge chairs. Barbara states that she likes seeing everyone happy over a fire. Janice asks Barbara who Tony looks like right now. Barbara admits that Tony resembles John a lot. Barbara says that her family stopped by to see Livia before they came over and asks Janice how she thinks Livia is. Janice states that Livia is weak, but she's all there. Janice notes that it isn't a real family reunion when the matriarch of the family is barred from entering. Barbara warns Janice about getting too close and says that they should really see what Tony wants. Janice says that she has no fantasies about Livia and asks Barbara if she knows that Tony is selling Livia's house. Barbara tells Janice that this is what she is talking about and warns her again not to get involved between Tony and Livia. Barbara says that she only called Janice because she felt that she had the right to know Livia was ill. Janice says that the house could go for $180,000 and Tony really doesn't need the money. Barbara says that she is glad that Tony is at least taking over responsibility and assures Janice that she'll get her share. Janice says that isn't going to happen. She notes Livia is alive with no will and notes that Livia still has rights. Barbara notes that Tony paid for her stay at Green Grove and all other profits. Janice spots Paulie coming into the party and notes her surprise that he is still alive. Later, Janice leaves the house before dessert. Carmela asks Janice if she really can't stay. Janice says that she is trying to get a video financed and she has to go to the open house. Her friends arrive to pick her up and she leaves. Back inside, Carmela exchanges a look with her mother, but quickly dismisses it. Tony takes out the trash and walks over to Janice's car. He looks in the backseat and notices something's out of place. He takes back a few pieces of clothing and sees the For Sale sign for Livia's house is in the car. Tony knows that Janice took the sign down so nobody would try and buy the house. Inside, Carmela tells Tony that there has to be an explanation for why Janice took the sign down. Tony says that the explanation is that Janice is working her con artist skills by taking the house and Livia's car away. Carmela states that the sign could have fallen or was broken. Tony laughs and says that Janice is not going to stop the house from selling by taking down one sign. Carmela tells Tony to look at himself and how angry he is. She asks him why the house matters to him so much. She asks him when he is going back into therapy. Tony tells Carmela not to bring that up again. He tells her that he is not insane and he is not going back into therapy. Carmela tells Tony to go outside and be with his friends so he can be happy. Tony walks outside and is still angry. He asks Pussy what he's doing and Pussy states that he was watching the sausage while he was inside. Tony calls Pussy a moron, but Pussy turns the joke around and everyone has a little laugh. The men start to discuss airline miles and the great deals that they can get. Tony smiles at all of the fun moments that he has, but suddenly when Pussy starts to talk, Tony starts to zone out again. He stares at his friend and doesn't know what to think. Later, Christopher and Adriana are out at the bar with Bevilaqua and Gismonte. Gismonte asks Christopher when they get to roll with Tony. Bevilaqua tells Gismonte they need to work their way up through the ranks and then get personally introduced. Gismonte asks Christopher how it is working with Tony and jokingly asks if the two did hits together. Bevilaqua tells Christopher that he and Gismonte are willing to do anything it takes to get a name in the Mafia. Gismonte asks Christopher if Tony ever mentions them. Christopher states that Tony doesn't say anything about them. Christopher sees Adriana looking into nothingness and asks her if she's going to eat. Adriana says that she isn't going to eat and Christopher asks her what's wrong. Adriana says that she is upset at Christopher for leaving the gas burner on and notes that she could have died lighting a cigarette. Christopher states that he already apologized for that. Adriana notes Christopher should use a lighter for drugs like everyone else. She adds that things were so good between them and now things are changing. Christopher tells Adriana not to talk about drugs. Adriana states that Bevilaqua and Gismonte don't care whether Christopher is a junkie or not. Christopher slaps Adriana for that comment and Adriana slaps him right back. Adriana storms off and Christopher tells her to cook his dinner while she's home. Dr. Melfi is eating at a diner when Tony arrives. He sits down and grabs Dr. Melfi's hand. He tells her not to scream and not to run away. Tony asks Dr. Melfi how she's been, but Dr. Melfi isn't answering him. Tony notes that Dr. Melfi didn't answer his phone calls so this is the only way he could get in touch with her. Dr. Melfi tells Tony that walking away is a choice and ruining her practice is also a choice. Tony notes that Dr. Melfi's office is fine. Dr. Melfi tells Tony that one of her patients committed suicide because she couldn't be at the office for her. She says that the woman can't get bagels or ask for help because she's dead. Tony admits to Dr. Melfi that he doesn't deserve her help, but he has a family and they need him. Tony tells her about his car accident because of a panic attack. Dr. Melfi doesn't believe him because he looks alright, but Tony tells her that the air bag saved him. Dr. Melfi isn't concerned at all. Tony tells Dr. Melfi he doesn't blame her and asks if she can recommend someone else. Dr. Melfi states that she could never recommend another colleague to get involved with him and asks Tony how many people have to be killed for his personal growth. Tony assures her that nobody was killed because of her. Dr. Melfi tells Tony to get out of her life. Tony has nothing else to say and leaves her at the diner. Tony returns home to see Carmela. Carmela is surprised to see that Tony is home early and admits she thought it was A.J. coming home from school. Carmela asks Tony if he's alright. Tony states that he's fine. Carmela tells Tony that she was going to heat up some cold pasta and offers to microwave some of it for him. Tony is fine with that. The two stand in silence for a moment and Tony walks past Carmela to sit down at the table. Tony thinks that the pasta looks good and starts to eat it. Carmela rubs Tony's back and Tony tells Carmela to sit down and relax. The two sit down at the table and Carmela sorts through the mail while Tony eats his pasta. While the two still have their issues, it is still a nice moment for them where they can enjoy each other's presence and are not arguing. The episode ends with Tony and Carmela sitting at the table.
