Oddly Lisa Kirk receives a Special Guest Star credit and not James Coburn.
Deborah Cotton (Kirk) is fleeing with her daughter Abigail. Her father is the supposedly wealthy Adam Dean.
Hot on her heels is a stranger who has ridden into town. He turns out to be a private detective Sam Murdock (Coburn.) He has a warrant to take Deborah in for kidnapping her daughter.
Davey is charmed by both Deborah and Abigail. So Simon Kane is one of many people that thwart Sam from bringing Deborah in.
Eventually even Sam decides to help out Deborah once he figures just who Adam Dean really is.
The story is nonsense, but it turns slightly comedic with showgirls and the interplay between Kirk and Coburn. It is nice that Coburn is not the villain that he initially is painted to be when the episode begins.
