- TriviaThe title is based on Hector Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac a French dramatist and duelist who is now best remembered for an overly large nose described in the Edmond Rostand's play based on this life.
- Quotes
Chrissy Snow: It's the guy I've been dating, remember?
Jack Tripper: Yeah, Michael the gourmet Winthrop.
Chrissy Snow: Don't talk about him like that, I happen to like him. And I've invited him here for dinner.
Jack Tripper: Dinner? You planning to send out?
Chrissy Snow: No, he's expecting me to cook.
Jack Tripper: You? Chrissy, you can't cook. Don't you remember what happened when you tried to make spaghetti?
Chrissy Snow: Well, I just wanted to make sure that it was thoroughly mixed with the sauce.
Jack Tripper: But you don't do that in a blender. You made a spaghetti malted.
Chrissy Snow: Oh, I just thought it would be faster.
Jack Tripper: The correct way is to mix the sauce in a bowl, then pour it gently over the spaghetti.
Chrissy Snow: See, you just taught me how to make biscetti.
The brightest moments tend to involve characters teasing one another. And since this is 'Three's Company' we're talking about here, naturally at some point a misunderstanding has to crop up. (With Roper misinterpreting Janets' words as she talks about what's going on in the kids' apartment.) Guest star Nadelman is funny, although Norman Fell gets some of the biggest laughs, especially when he's talking about "things getting back to not being normal". You do have to feel bad for Chrissy, though, when she sees her opportunities for a pleasant evening melting away. One of my favorite moments involves Joyce DeWitt saying "Excuuuuse me" as if she's Steve Martin.
A good episode in general.
Eight out of 10.
