Forgotten Hero

Warning: Spoilers
American Indian braves kill a moonshine brewer and burn his log cabin in the opening scene and then the movie switches to where Colonel MacKenzie is watching cattle branding in progress.

A cavalry troupe arrives and the Colonel exchanges pleasantries with the troupe leader Lieutenant Dorn. They discusses a looming threat by Indian braves out to reclaim the lands by attacking white settlers.

It also appears that a long forgotten apparently dead soldier from India, whom Parker and Colonel MacKenzie recognize from ten years ago, has arrived in the form of Sergeant Mulchay.

Parker is asked to keep an eye on Sergeant Mulchay by Colonel MacKenzie but he leaves the fort by horse as Parker calls out "Lieutenant Baxter"!

Mulcahy/Baxter Meets Up With MacKenzie

This is a terrific episode. Not sure why any Western fan wouldn't like it except Trampas or the Virginian Fandom. The acting in a key scene with Stewart Granger and John Saxon is top drawer. Type of performances, which bring applause. The action is good, too. I like Eric Christmas' contribution, also. This is still the only show I've seen Randolph Mantooth in other than Emergency. The rural purge did this show a disservice. Yet at its best Bonanza and Gunsmoke or any other TV Western can't match it. I don't understand why GRIT doesn't show the final season. Is it hard to get episodes titled Men Of Shiloh?

Fake Virginian Episode

Stewart Granger is not the Virginian no matter how hard he tries to make us forget there was the Virginian. Guess he never read Owen Wister novel, The Virginian. And Terry Wilson is not Trampas. I liked him in Wagon Train, but not as Trampas.
