Del Murdock refers to the fictitious "Wingy Manone Memorial Shopping Center." Joseph "Wingy" Manone was a then-living jazz trumpeter famous for having only one arm. Manone was not connected to Cincinnati.

Both Hamilton Camp (Del Murdock) and Garry Goodrow (Bob Barnat/Bobby Boogie) were members of the comedy troupe The Committee alongside Howard Hesseman.
