That particular random act of kindness
bkoganbing14 August 2014
This Wagon Train episode concerns Mark Stevens formerly a colonel in the Union Army who served with Ward Bond, but who is now a pretty rich merchant and has about 20 wagons of trade goods and traveling with the Wagon Train. Stevens is a man of peace now, he eschews violence. But the fact he's a northerner still irks some of the hotheaded southern types like Kevin Hagen.

Bond and Stevens rescue Joanne Dru from a Sioux attack and she's attracted to Stevens but baffled by his pacifism. Later on Stevens rescues an old Indian left to die by his tribe. That particular random act of kindness pays off in saving the Wagon Train.

Dru and Stevens make an interesting couple who are definitely headed for romance. This is an episode I'm sure will meet with the approval of most fans of the Wagon Train series.

And it also is one of the few with Bill Hawks's wife before she was quietly dropped from the series.
