On A Wing And A Prayer
ccthemovieman-111 January 2010
"Tom Wing" is in trouble, thanks to hot-headed numb-skulls in the town of Pinto. The easy-going Asian banker was robbed and a good chunk of the money belonged to the townspeople. For some idiotic reason, they are ready to string up Wing if they don't get their money soon - like, it was his fault?

Wing (Philip Ahn) calls for Josh to help him out, so Josh attempts to, but not without some serious bumps and bruises along the way. Some of these townsfolk are real killers. Can Josh, the good sheriff, his good deputy and the good ; town doctor, hold off these guys and save 'ol Tom? That's the question and the suspense is good as we find out the answer. (Hint: one of these "good" guys turns out not to be so good.)

This is the last episode of Season Two. That marks two excellent seasons out of two, with one more to go. After that, Steve McQueen, the hero of this show, became a big-time movie star.

Ahn, meanwhile, has an interesting resume and was in hundreds of TV shows. It took him to his last years on earth before he got famous acting on "Kung Fu." He was still acting when he died after surgery in 1978. Ahn and a handful of other Asian actors (Benson Fong, Richard Loo, Keye Luke and Victor Sen Yung) played about every Asian character you saw on screen from the '40s through the '70s.
