McQueen Comes To The Aid Of Coburn
ccthemovieman-112 November 2006
Josh is called by a friend (and famous actor) James Coburn to help him run a bad guy out of town. It seems "Jesse Holloway" (Coburn) had a girlfriend "Meghan Francis" (Jean Willes), who owns a hotel/saloon and a crook has a one-year part ownership in the saloon. He runs a crooked game and wants more than a one-year deal on it. He made himself town mayor and the like, meaning he has power and influence to do whatever he likes.

The man, "Peter Kovack" (Jacques Aubuchon) gets rough, getting his men to trash the saloon and then beating up Coburn. Josh then decides it's about time he handle the situation....and that he does!

Nice to see Coburn play a good guy, for once, which helped make this pleasing episode. It's nothing super, but a solid story, and another reason to make me glad I purchased this DVD set.

A feel good buddy episode

James Coburn plays an old friend of Josh. Coburn's problem is a bad man with lots of henchmen who is trying to take over the Outrider, owned by Coburn's girlfriend. Seeing they are outnumbered, Josh plans to get help from many other Coburn "FRIENDS" including Johnny Ringo ans John Wesley Hardin. But there is not enough time. Josh somehow isolates on the bad guy and forces him to sign papers. But bad guy disables Josh in an unbelievable move and Coburn gets to display some fancy shooting. McQueen and Coburn get together four years later in 1963's Great Escape, along with James Garner/Maverick.
