James T. West : Are you sure you don't want to join us, Artie?
Artemus Gordon : Are you kidding? After five hours in that saddle just catching up with that stage...
[groans]
Artemus Gordon : All I want now is a little rest and quiet, and darn little of that.
James T. West : Well, the important thing is Ms. Posey's in the pokey thanks to you.
Artemus Gordon : [sarcastically] Oh, yeah. Three cheers for me.
James T. West : Artie, I think you might get some kind of accommodation for it.
Artemus Gordon : Nah... You really think so?
James T. West : Well, of course. Ms. Posey was a very dangerous...
[the telegraph starts giving a message]
James T. West : Speaking of accommodations...
[walks to the telegraph; the telegraph starts repeating the message]
Artemus Gordon : Another assignment right away?
[looks down at the telegraph]
Artemus Gordon : KOOTENAY PASS? THAT'S SIX HOURS ON A HORSE GOING JUST ONE WAY!
[sits on a chair and starts complaining]

Little Pinto : [Pinto has tied West to a slide used for delivering cakes of ice]
[laughs]
Little Pinto : I hope you appreciate what a clever rig this is, Mr. West.
James T. West : I do. I do. But you shouldn't have gone to so much trouble on my account.
Little Pinto : Oh, no. No trouble at all. You see 300-pound cakes of ice are being held in place by this one rope. Now you'll notice this lamp here.
[lights a match and then lights the lamp]
Little Pinto : Now I'm gonna set the lamp right under the rope that's holding up them cakes of ice.
James T. West : I noticed that too, a little too close to the rope, isn't it?
Little Pinto : Now you're beginning to get the big idea. See, the lamp starts charring the rope, the rope starts parting, finally...
[clicks tongue]
Little Pinto : Gives away and down comes two big cakes of ice. Your own private glacier right into your lap.
James T. West : You ought to patten that.
Little Pinto : Yep, just might. Well, I'd figure it be about 45 minutes before anything really interesting happens around here. I'll be back by then. Now you just take it easy and relax.
[laughs as he leaves]
