This was Gary Grubbs' last appearance on the show to date. After being written in as a major cast member in the first season, but appearing in less than half the episodes.
The title is a reference to the famous November 3, 1948 Chicago Tribune headline "Dewey Defeats Truman," which inaccurately claimed that the Republican Governor of New York Thomas E. Dewey had defeated President Harry S. Truman in the election.
Debra hits enough buttons so that when she hits the Enter key on the adding machine, it prints the right amount of numbers to do the printout.
