Ben Clark has been the Marshal of a town for many years. When Marshal Clark took over the job the town use to be full of trouble where no one was safe. Clark cleaned up the town and made it a place where families were not afraid to walk the streets. But now it seems that Clark is going overboard with his actions. He is suspicious of everyone that rides into town to the point of harassing them to they leave. This does not set well with the locals as he is running business out of the town.
A cowboy, Wes Cooper, rides into town to visit of a grave of a friend, the Marshal believes the rider is there to cause trouble. The cowboy is not intimidated and stays in town even after advise from the Marshal about leaving. The cowboy is seeing all the signs that the town is turning on the Marshal. And when a kid rides in looking for trouble, the older Marshal is so paranoid that he is set on killing the entire lot. But the town has a different view of the situation.
The story was not bad but it just seemed that perhaps it was an overkill (no pun intended) to have everyone, including two unknown riders, against the Marshal from the start of the episode. There is much dialog in this show so one has to be alert for all the hidden agendas during the long periods of talking. Right from the beginning the episode was very predictable and ended with little excitement or twists to the plot. It was a very straight forward show that was lacking adventure.
