Really great episode, with emotion reminiscent of the classic era

What a great, great episode. I just....love it.

It is also very emotional. One of the most emotional episodes since Season 10's, "Bart the Mother" (although there were many in between that almost qualify.) How is it emotional? It starts off with Marge having no-one to ride her new bike with, so Bart offers to. They share a bond by having tea and biscuits at a little café. Then, when some bullies tease Bart for hanging out with his mum, he lashes out horribly at Marge and destroys their new relationship. He just did it so cruelly to Marge who was very, very innocent and sweet in this episode. It'd just be hard not to feel anything right about there. And of course, they make up at the end. I don't know why I loved it, but there's just something about Marge/Bart episodes that I love more than most things on the show.

As for humour, I don't remember any knee-slappers, but I do remember chuckling here and there. But when an episode is so great and full of emotion like this one here, it just doesn't matter at all.

I'd usually give this episode an 8.5/10, but considering there isn't that option to vote for, and considering how they've still managed to capture emotion after 17 seasons, this episode really does deserve the 9.

Amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
This episode quite reminisce "Sleeping With the Enemy", albeit with differences. Actually, this episode was quite different. The theme regards real vs. fake. Or a rebellious Bart vs. a Mama's boy Bart. Indeed, Mama's boy Bart was quite nicer, but it didn't seem quite right because its just pretend to be something that's not really real. So in the end. Marge choose the rebellious Bart over Mama's boy Bart, considering the fact he won't end like Principal Skinner, successful Mama's boy.

Already ruined since day one (or more specifically, 6 years BEFORE the episode was released!)

Warning: Spoilers
Marge's Son Poisoning was an episode of The Simpsons that was released 6 YEARS after the South Park episode Chinpokomon. I'm bringing this up because, in that episode of South Park, the "lesson learned" is that kids just generally find things to be uncool if the adults (and especially their parents) find that thing cool.

With that in mind, with this episode being about Bart and Marge, the plot of this episode became instantly predictable. This was evident later on in this episode, where Bart realises that he is becoming a "momma's boy" and so stops spending time with Marge. It was quite obvious that Bart was going to stop hanging out with Marge. This whole story was doomed from the start, the reasons being in the South Park episode Chinpokomon.

All in all, I see this episode as quite a waste of time and absolutely pointless. With a plot that was THIS predictable, what was the point of making this episode? Considering that there have been little to no episodes that focus on Bart and Marge since this episode's release, the conclusion I've been left with is that it's a storyline idea that just isn't going anywhere (and can't).
