This is the twelfth episode of the third season of the Simpsons and it is utterly fantastic, perhaps because it's a funny albeit honest portrayal of the events that took place between Marge and Homer after the first flashback episode, "The Way We Were." I loved the cultural references namely the part where Homer spoiled the ending for The Empire Strikes Back.
In this episode, "I Married Marge," Marge believes she may be pregnant so she goes to the doctor. When she left, Homer tells the kids the story of how Homer and Marge created Bart on a golf course after the movie, how they got married in a lowlife place, and how Homer got his job at the nuclear power plant.
Overall, this is a great episode because it tends to be both funny and emotional. It gets pretty sad when we see Homer try to get after the one he loves despite the lack of money. It is true that they love each other, despite everything. This is a moving portrait of their love. I rate this episode 9/10.
