Two great stories for your family
mkraft78 January 2007
If you are ever looking for new, entertaining ways to convey Jewish values to your young family, these two short films should be strongly considered. Both are simple animated tales where Jami Gertz and Bob Saget are the narrators. You can easily imagine that these stories are told at a family gathering. The first story, Moishe's Miracle, makes you want to eat Latkes and is a delightful traditional folk tale. The second story, the Tie Man's Miracle, not only provides a story that pulls at your heart strings, but can also help you discuss with your young ones a very sensitive subject. It's wonderful to see both Jamie Gertz and Bob Saget take on performances that are very different in tone from some of their more famous roles. Jami Gertz's occasional departures into a Yiddish accent are charming.

Lovely stories bring Jewish families together
suzanhampton1 November 2023
Chanukah Stories is a wonderful animated film that is perfect viewing for Jewish families with young children. The tales strongly reflect Jewish culture in a simple and approachable way.

I recommended Chanukah Stories to a Jewish friend with children ages 4 and 6. Her children sat through the entire thing (a miracle!) and even asked a few questions once it was over. They sat through it a second time with their grandmother at the Assisted Living. She passed along reminiscences of her and her own grandparents' experiences of these tales, what a gift.

Based on the book by award-winning author and illustrator, Stephen T. Johnson, the movie is a delight for the visual senses as well as being culturally meaningful for multiple generations. Recommend!
