Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly) fans will be happy about this. Though Fillion didn’t get cast in Warner Bros.’ big screen adaptation of DC’s Green Lantern (even after the world saw how awesome that could have been with the fan-made trailer starring Fillion), Nathan will still get to be a part of the Green Lantern legacy by lending his voice to the upcoming animated Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, a straight-to-dvd movie coming out this summer in promotion of the big screen film, starring fellow Two Guys,a Girl, and a Pizza Place star, Ryan Reynolds. Fillion will voice Hal Jordan alongside a stellar voice cast including Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Kelly Hu (Vampire Diaries), Henry Rollins (Sons of Anarchy), Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (They Live).
Fillion is ecstatic about the role:
“I was always reading the comic books, I was always a spectator.

The Firefly and Dr. Horrible geeked out when Nathan Fillion was offered the voice to DC Comics superhero Green Lantern in the DVD movie Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, due June 7 from Warner Bros, just 10 days before the big budget live-action Green Lantern movie which stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan opens in theaters.
Nathan C. Fillion (‘Firefly”, “Castle”) on a 2010 Top 30 TV series earners with $100,000 per episode has transformed the former soap opera actor into a huge draw for the geek crowd. Fillion, already a favorite for starring in Joss Whedon’s “Firefly/Serenity” projects, was the subject of a fan-made trailer that hit the net in 2009, before Reynolds was cast in the major movie “tent pole”. After seeing the spot, many fans hoped Fillion would get the role.

Hardcore punk icon Henry Rollins has defended his decision not to attack Kiss star Gene Simmons for bragging about his wealth on his U.S. talk show, insisting he was happy for the heavy rocker to "hang himself". The former Black Flag and Rollins Band's frontman admits he received a deluge of mail from angry fans for letting Simmons ramble on about his "hideous" wealth and sex life during an awkward interview on Rollins' former TV show "The Henry Rollins Show".
The punk legend tells Spinner, "(Fans asked), 'Why didn't you give him s**t?' (But) I'm not going to argue with a man in his 50s who's set in his ways. He was just doing his shtick. I decided he brought his own rope with him and he felt like making a hangman's noose, so I let him do his thing. There's nothing to argue with."

IFC in the fall will serve up Automat, a new primetime block of original series and edgy shortform content designed to appeal to a young-male demo.
Starting Sept. 30, IFC will stock its Tuesday night Automat wheel with such snackable fare as the anime strip "Hell Girl" and "From the Basement," a live-music series developed by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.
In first-quarter 2009, the sketch-comedy series "The Whitest Kids U' Know" will join the 8 p.m.-midnight Automat lineup, returning for its third season. "The Henry Rollins Show" also will find a home within the confines of the new format.
In addition to the series that will be slotted within the Automat format, the network will also run three 15-minute "IFC Blasts" throughout each weekly block. Much of the shorter-form video will be culled from the in-house incubator IFC Media Lab.
Jennifer Caserta, who recently was elevated to executive vp and Gm of IFC, said the new programming initiative will mark the network's first attempt at developing a branded destination for fans of its indie-minded aesthetic.
"We've always been known as the place to go for independent film, and Automat goes beyond that," she said. "We're looking at Automat as a showcase for indie culture, whether that's comedy or music or anime."
Caserta said that Automat will also showcase material originally developed for IFC.com, including the Web series "Mary Van Note: Gavin Really Wants Me," "Young American Bodies" and "Getting Away With Murder."...
