In the 2006 era, if you go to the World Trade Center site, notice that there is a road separating where the two Twin Towers once stood. That is incorrect because in reality the WTC site at the time was one big 60 acre rectangle that's at least 50 feet deep and has no roads going through it. If their were a road going through it they would have to build a downward ramp or a bridge.
The NYPD's tactical unit is called ESU, not SWAT.
Jersey City is mislabeled as "New Jersey City" on the in-game road signs.
The prison bus has a school bus' stop sign.
In the 1978 era, the World Financial Center is present, next to the World Trade Center; but the WFC was not completed until 1985-1988. Battery Park City, where the WFC is located, was a landfill during the 1970s.
In the 1978 era, notice that the fire truck is a little to "modern" for the 70s, which is true because the fire truck is a 2001 - 2006 American LaFrance Pumper Truck. In reality the New York Fire Department used mid to late 70s Mack CF Pumpers as their apparatus in the late 70s all the way through the 80s. American LaFrance, however did not become common in New York until after the September 11th attacks when the city really needed trucks regardless of what company made them.
In the 2006 era, notice that the "Bus" is still the old and dirty 1960s GM TDH Bus, which is strange because in the early 1990s NYC's transportation system put this bus out of service and began routing the modern Grumman Flxible bus (rectangle bus) with the present blue and white paint job. Putting this bus in the game would make more sense because this bus's production started in the early 90s to the present.
In the 2006 era, One of the advertisement/Light boards in Times Square says "Yankees win 19-8". That was the final score of Game 3 of the 2004 MLB Championship Series between the Yankees and Red Sox. That was in 2004 not 2006.
The NYPD ESU is shown using bread trucks in 2006. By 2006 most of these had been replaced with specialized armored cars.
In the game the NYPD (also known as the "City Police") patrols all streets in New York City and even in the State of New Jersey and the harbors of New York City, which is incorrect because in reality New Jersey would have its own police agencies and New York's harbors would have the Port Authority Police or known as the "PAPD".
In both the 1978 and 2006 era, if you look out towards the Statue of Liberty, notice that there is no Ellis Island.
In both the 1978 and 2006 eras, notice that if you look southwest from Battery Park City, Staten Island is nowhere to be seen.
All the cars in New Jersey have New York license plates.
