The Clown Prince of Clowns
bux12 November 2009
The only thing more inane than Beck are the people that would actually watch him.

Beck does absolutely no research on any topic that he discusses. It's all just stream of unconsciousness.

Oh, and the emotion...the phony tears and angst. I haven't seen a display like this since dad wouldn't give my little brother the car keys on Saturday night.

Now should we talk about the sponsor's that have run from this show because of his racist, bigoted comments? With Beck, the old axiom applies: The best part of him ran down the bulldogs leg.

Does anybody really find him funny?
fdog926 April 2007
This guy sucks....and he sounds a little like my Dad (.....in my day we didn't have this darned blamed rap music). It was the Rolling Stones when I was young (same stuff different decade--everybody grows up and cuts their hair). I've never laughed at anything he's said. He also seems to be against the excesses of our society nevertheless he totally pro corporate America....I guess he is some sort of fascist (pro business but for controlling the individual--'cept guns of course). He also loves the Sopranos and Alanis Morrisette but hates R rated movies. Many many contradictions. Glenn you live in a free society---get over it. Do you really think he's funny?

The "Chicken Little" of Broadcast News
RedJeepCwby20 November 2006
He curtails his guests in mid-conversation, especially when they make a good point that doesn't agree with his own conservative biased view. He constantly insists that radical Islam is the root of all evil in the world while most educated people agree that it's radical religion in any form (Christian, Muslim, or Jew) that causes the most problems. With him, there's always a conspiracy usually involving the Democrats, Bill Clinton, and/or Michael Moore. He always has something to say about World War III or the End of the World as we know it and has made several predictions when both will start and of course, he is right and everyone else who doesn't share his views is wrong.

The only way I can think of describing the show is that it would be the conservative T.V. version of the National Enquirer or The National Sun. He's even more annoying than Rush or Bill O'Riely, but not as crude or hypocritical. He actually believes the things he says and how this man even has his own television show is scary! *worst possible rating from me

Bottom of the barrel

This guy reeks of desperation in every syllable. He just tries too hard. Nor is he particularly bright. His blinking stare betrays slight fear and a perpetual slight bafflement at the world.

Strikes me as nothing so much as American suburban trailer trash that made good and doesn't quite know how to handle it.

Wouldn't know an honest personal conviction if it stole his John Deere polyester wallet; all his "views are transparently expedient attention-grabbers with little thought to the consequences of foisting them upon the public.

His exchange with Erica Hill was the crowning "glory": (search aliberaldose.blogspot.com with the word assclown to see it)

Trust me; like his plummeting ratings, it's all downhill from there....

Abysmal, annoying, other things that begin with the letter 'a.'
scaryflashlight29 May 2006
I'd just like to start off by saying that CNN is a news network. It's a 24-hour cable news station. You watch CNN to watch the news.

This is where I feel the trouble begins. If I wanted a show like "The Daily Show" or "The Colbert Report," I would watch Comedy Central.

Mixing news and satire is risky. Riskier more, I would say, for CNN than for Comedy Central.

However, passing off mediocre entertainment news on CNN is sort of like mixing oil and water. To top it all off, I just don't think Glenn Beck is funny. I suppose it's just my opinion, but I know for a fact I'm not the only one.

Merriam-Webster defines "abysmal" as an adjective:

a : having immense or fathomless extension downward, backward, or inward "an abysmal cliff" b : immeasurably great "abysmal ignorance" c : immeasurably low or wretched "abysmal living conditions of the poor"

I suppose that if I want entertainment news, I'll watch Comedy Central.

This show is original

It is the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

The only word the other person forgot to add from the a category is awesome and that is what it truly is.

It is not the parent's cable news show with a person on the right vs. a person on the left they just argue for the point of arguing. It is more about people discussing issues and if there are debates it is about what is right and what is wrong not what helps a political party.

If you are a Glenn Beck Fan this show is for you. It is not your typical cable news show. It is different because it discusses everything from pop culture to Iran to Glenn's famous pink ties. If you are a sick freak (fan of the Glenn Beck show) this show is for you.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHH.

A New Type of News Show!!
laffalott111 May 2006
Conservative radio talk show host Glenn Beck is going to try and tackle the art of television. After watching the show for a couple of episodes, I found that Beck is very watchable. I am a big fan of his radio show, and I think he is becoming a T.V. star as well. He is, well, an entertainer. "Glenn Beck" however is a very interesting news show. Mixed with plenty of comedy, the show is more informative then Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show", or Stephen Colbert's "The Colbert Report". I believe that we have finally found a show that both liberals and conservatives can watch, and like. I hope that Beck can keep it up, and keep this show going for a couple of years.

Surreal
rftripper13 November 2007
This is one strange show. Glenn's politics are a bit loony but unlike O'Reilly he doesn't take himself too seriously and especially unlike Savage doesn't have any self-righteousness. It's almost like they picked some eccentric religious conservative off the street and gave him a talk show. To even talk about Glenn's politics somewhat misses the point, however. The presentation of this show is just plain weird. Glenn says virtually everything completely off the cuff, often to a fault and is constantly self-deprecating. You'll laugh a lot when you watch this. More often than not you'll be laughing AT Glenn rather than with him, but he makes some good points from time to time. The one thing I can say for sure about this show is that you'll never be bored.

Refreshing

Not everyone will like Glenn Beck. Not everyone will get his style of humor. But this show IS different. The news is real news, but there is comedy as well. Glenn is a goof-ball. He can be very lame. But that is also why many people love him. He's not condescending. You get a feeling of honesty from him and also the knowledge that while he's very opinionated on some things and is clear about his ideological leanings, he's also humble. Although he's not afraid of being silly and making a joke (like many other of his "cohorts" as well), he's also not afraid of being vulnerable and authentic.

If you refuse to watch because you differ from him ideologically, you will be missing out. If you refuse to watch because you just can't stand watching a guy that authentic & goofy on TV, then I guess that's your taste. But I would recommend that everybody give it at least a couple of episodes and see if you don't love Glenn too.

Enlightening but the entertaining? Eh...
colsheppard12425 October 2006
Been a fan of Glenn's ever since his Philadelphia days. He had this way of making you think and laugh at the same time. I have to admit that when I started watching him on TV, I was disappointed. The show sucked! Sorry Glenn... Lately however, he's grown into it and it's no longer embarrassing to watch him as it was on premiere broadcast.

However, lately, it's mostly been doom and gloom. Glenn was really good at his job, anyone remember the time he "killed a puppy" live on the air? But that's missing lately. Nowadays he doesn't have that annoyingly innocent charm he used to. He's too... serious... while ironically not taking his comedy and entertainment seriously.

If he went back to the old days of comedy and less politics, he'd be able to beat out O'Reilly in the ratings. He's already on the way of doing that, but it's taking him longer than necessary, in my opinion.

I like Glenn Beck
mm-3915 April 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I like Glenn Beck he calls it as he see it. A consecrative bend on the news which is nice. Glenn Will call out some very stupid things that the government and society does. Glenn was warning about the mortgage and other economic meltdown way before it happen. At least he never rants like Corburt does which make the show a bit more news oriented. To bad CNN lost him, but considering the conservative slant of Fox news I am pretty sure Beck will fit in the line up. I find the show objective, and logical. I may not agree with everything Glenn says, but I found many of the issues Glenn discusses and dissects need to be addressed. 7 out of 10 for the Glenn Beck show.

A Man With A Vision
FiendishDramaturgy15 March 2007
I know that I'll be in the minority with this review, as I so often am, but I care not.

Glenn Beck is a passionate, thinking, feeling individual with an articulate mind, who relays his thoughts and feelings succinctly to his (rather huge) audience, both on Radio and on CNN Headline News.

This gentleman presents many theories concerning Government conspiracies, International conspiracies, Global manipulations of the world populous, etc. Most people ignore him, but I think perhaps, to their detriment. I don't know (or care) if he is right. I have to say that he CARES, and in his caring, has earned the respect of those of us who also care; right or wrong.

He is more than worth your time. He is worth your mind.

The Glenn Beck Show rates a 10/10 for heart and presentation from...

the Fiend :.

Great and refreshing
bobseveneleven25 October 2006
This is actual news, and not fake news (like the Daily show and the Colbert Report). He does actually put humor into his show, but there is no fabrication in the news he presents. It is a breath of fresh air to hear someone give the news straight and not just be another talking head. This television show is just an extension of his radio show which I actually enjoy more since there is more time and he can go into stories more in depth (www.glennbeck.com). The show does not follow the format of any of CNN's other shows, it is unique and different. If you are sick and tired of the normal political junk on network news you will like this show. His show is about right and wrong, not about picking a political side but is about doing what is right.
