Memories of both "Scoobygeist" and "Quagmire Quake Caper" were quite vague before sitting down to rewatch. What can be remembered is not liking either very much actually, but there are plenty of episodes of Scooby Doo and anything where episodes that were not cared for when younger fared much better on rewatch (just like 'The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show' in general) and have said as such in some of my reviews for the 'Law and Order' franchise.

It was an interesting rewatch actually, though not an easy episode to rate with such a big divide between the two episodes. Was not expecting to like "Scoobygeist", with it being a premise that wouldn't be too out of place in the Scooby/Scrappy/Shaggy episodes of 'Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo' (not a good thing), but actually it transpired to be one of the best, creepiest and most entertaining 'The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show' outings and am actually pretty ashamed for having a not so good opinion of it when younger. It is a shame that one of the show's worst "The Quagmire Quake Caper" immediately followed, and actually fared worse than as a child.

"Scoobygeist" (8/10)- The infinitely better episode of the two by a long way. It did feel rather abrupt at the end and it would have benefitted from being longer.

There are plenty of good things though, with the creepy setting and the very imaginative horror touches (particularly in the visuals) immediately standing out. Shaggy and Scooby are hilarious, Daphne's resourcefulness and authority are refreshing and Scooby makes one of his better appearances as he serves a point and isn't annoying. The episode is also one of the show's best looking, especially the horror visuals which have a surprising amount of imagination, while the music is lively and atmospheric. The intro and theme tune are memorable though too short. The writing is fun and the voice acting is very good.

"Quagmire Quake Caper" (4/10)- Has its moments, but overall one of the show's worst. Not terrible, but just very bland and forgettable. It is redeemed by the regular voice acting, some colourful visuals, the well gelled music and some funny moments from Shaggy and Scooby (like the beginning). Oh and Daphne continues to be refreshing, but her run of the mill material makes her not stand out as much.

Unfortunately it is let down by a lot of things. The plot is typical, by the numbers and very thin, one that easily could have been done and solved in half the time it took. Making for some draggy, over-stretched pacing. There is no suspense or surprises and it just feels bland and easily forgettable. The supporting characters were forgotten not long after and Scrappy's contribution is not particularly memorable this time. Lets not get started on the unintentionally silly, goofy in design and opposite of scary villain with a reveal that can be seen from some while away.

Overall, one very good episode and one lacklustre at best one. 6/10.
