Sex & Nudity

  • Stalkers are fully nude, however their reproductive parts are surgically removed. Vaginas (sealed off, but still visible) and buttocks can still be seen.
  • Various characters throughout Half Life 2: Episode One can be rarely seen speaking about mating and sex.

Violence & Gore

  • There is gore and dismemberment to non-human creatures.
  • The violence isn't over the top but there is still enough blood and gore to warrant the M for Mature rating.
  • Combine Zombies have most of their heads chewed away by headcrabs leaving only their lower jaw.
  • Many depictions of violence. There is minor blood splatter on the walls when someone is shot, and a minor amount can be seen puffing out of them. Aliens that are covered in blood can be seen.
  • Allies such as medics and rebels and enemies such as Combine Soldiers bleed red blood.
  • Aliens and zombies bleed green and yellow blood.
  • You can use many modern and science-fiction weapons to kill enemies.

Profanity

  • S*** is mildly used. There are also other mild profanities, but are rarely used.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • This is incorrect, one of the bottles literally has the label "beer" on it.
  • Glass bottles (which are implied to be alcoholic beverages) may be seen on the ground, but is rare and normal for a dirty city. However, they're never said to be alcohol, so they may just be bottles of soda or water.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Aliens are frequently seen. If you are afraid of that type of horror than it might frighten you. It can be dark sometimes which leads to suspense. One scene which takes place underground has you waiting for an elevator to come down to you. Many aliens appear, it is very dark and when aliens are set on fire the flames cast a very eery glow around the level.
