The first Disney film to feature Tinker Bell in a speaking role.
The movie was considered to be around 80% finished when Pixar merged with Disney. Pixar's John Lasseter demanded significant changes to the movie's plot. The original version was set in London, where Never Land had disappeared, and all the children had lost their imagination. The movie would have ended with the fairies going to see a band called "The Pixies Chicks"
The song that plays on the ballerina music box that Tinkerbell delivers to young Wendy is "You Can Fly," which is featured in Disney's Peter Pan, as well as Wendy herself.
Sold 668,000 copies in its first day of DVD release, about 22% more than expected.
