Sex & Nudity

  • A woman comes out of a bathroom buttoning up the top buttons of her blouse and it is implied she just had sex with a man (the man walks out a few moments later, fully clothed). A man and a woman dance closely.
  • A woman invites a man upstairs to have sex (the man declines the offer).
  • A woman puts on a very revealing dress (you can partially see through it. Parts of the breast and stomach can be seen.) It is implied that she and her husband are going to have sex, but they don't.

Violence & Gore

  • A man coughs into a handkerchief (we see the handkerchief covered in blood and mucous). A man's shirt is covered in blood while in the restroom of a restaurant after his catheter comes loose. We see a man leaning over a toilet and hear him vomiting (we do not see the vomit).

Profanity

  • Religious exhortations, at least 1 use of the 'f' word. A lot of crass words like "bitch", "son of a bitch", "ass" and "asshole." About 20-25 swears in the first 20 minutes of the film alone. shit is used 13 times
  • Non-profanity that's still worth noting: some sex jokes, one middle-finger gesture, crass use of the word "penis."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Carter is a smoker before he is diagnosed with Cancer

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The movie is very emotionally intense, people who tend to cry during movies will definetely cry during this one.
