More similarities to "The Honeymooners".

We see more bold borrowing from "The Honeymooners". Fred is very susceptible to con men like Ralph Kramden here with his buddy Gus "Smoothie" Gravel. Also like the Raccoon Lodge the Water Buffalo Lodge is introduced. Lots of reds and pinks on the colorized version I watched was very pleasing to the eye. Funniest scene was the sea serpent (just a big dinosaur). I enjoy when they do black silhouettes. This time Fred and Barney far away off fishing. Willard Waterman is an interesting guest actor not really being a prolific classic cartoon voice like many other guest actors. Some funny southern voices by Jean Vander Pyl and Bea Benaderet as disgruntled lodge wives. Great episode thats full of laughs.

Hotel Jobs

Fred looks up an old friend Gus Gravel, who owns a hotel.

A funny episode. Gus invites the Flintstones and Rubbles for free weekend at his hotel. He doesn't tell them that his staff just quit. Many funny scenes as Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty are forced to become chef, bellboy and maids. A convention of Water Buffaloes arrive. The Grand Poobah thinks he can convince the Ladies Auxiliary to be the help. This was before Fred and Barney were members of the Water Buffaloes.

Vacation?

Warning: Spoilers
Wilma and Betty are dubious when Fred says his old friend Gus Gravel has invited them to spend the holiday weekend at his resort hotel for free! Still a vacation from housework is too good to pass up . Little do the know what awaits them.

Things seem fine at first but Gus reveals his staff quit. Fred is sure his old buddy won't accept the offer to help out but of course he's wrong. Our four friends end up working at this seaside resort! It's quite enough though until a lodge convention shows up which was Gus's plan all along. Wilma suspects as much comments to Betty how gullible Fred can be. They quit and Gus is in despair but the grand poobah thinks their wives will do all the work , he couldn't be more wrong!

Fred's reaction to poobah is really funny especially considering how Fred and Barney later acted when they were lodge members.

The Flintstone's and the Rubbles drive away and the women demand a place where they can really vacation ! Fred and Barney agree.

A good episode and a lot of humor in this one. It's just very enjoyable.
