Carts review
Jefitz17 April 2007
This new movie from Chris Cashman brings together a true rainbow coalition of nut cases and sweethearts in madcap, romantic, sweet collisions that are consistently entertaining and satisfying. Who knew that the real America was to be found just around the corner, in the parking lot of a mega-store? From the Gen-X mover-and-shaker, to the Asian fussbudget, to the zany bag lady, to the careless West Hollywood couple, to the Valley rednecks, to the disgruntled employees - everybody's got a gripe and an attitude and an eye on somebody else's parking place. Cashman melds each silly element and deepens the stakes when we learn that every cart jockey is serving his time in Purgatory. Here on earth, in a parking lot. Move over Spike Lee, CARTS has wheels!!

"Carts" review by Rene' Thurston

Have you ever left your local warehouse store on a Saturday and found yourself noticing "them?" By "them," I mean cart attendants. Those orange-vested humans who move in a perpetually zombie-like state, pushing mile-long piles of carts, seemingly unaware of the possibility they may be backed over at any minute by someone with 74 cases of beef jerky obstructing their view. You find yourself thinking, "WHO would take that job? Director/Writer Chris Cashman leads us to believe that no one would voluntarily take such a job. It is, in fact, purgatory, and he explores that particular punishment in his hilarious film, "Carts."
