Reviews for the film "Waiting on Alphie"
ericclindstrom7 August 2006
"Waiting on Alphie is a great film that has a lot of lasting appeal. Its humor and commentary on life and crime is fun and quite enjoyable. Not since Pulp Fiction has an Indie crime film combined so much spontaneous humor with hit man intrigue." - Jeremy Hanke, Microfilmmaker Magazine "Films buff who miss the days of gritty dialog-driven '90s indies like Things to Do In Denver When You're Dead and The Usual Suspects should check this out ..." - M. Faust, ArtVoice Film Critic "... an extremely interesting film, sort of a 'Dinner with Andre' with bullets ... like watching a very well made stage play." - Michael Norman Salesman, filmrep.com "Kevin Hicks and Eric Lindstrom have made 'Waiting on Alphie,' their first locally produced film ... a Tarantino-like chamber piece set in a Buffalo diner between two guys. One has been assigned to kill the other, who wants not to be dead.

... the plot twists and turns ... ingenious." - Bryan VanCampen, Film Critic, Ithaca Times "... a great film, it's better than ... the schlock Hollywood has churned out this year." - Dustin Rowles, pajiba.com "… the underpinnings of their relationship are meant to unravel with the turning of the clock's hands from evening to dawn. Dark and absurd and even funny … the thrill of the story isn't left to chance." - Maya Rao, Ithaca Journal

You'll enjoy this movie over and over!

"Waiting on Alphie" was a delight to watch! It was like an old movie in modern times. Humor and whit was on the menu! I felt this was a movie that I could watch over and over…and I did! I thoroughly enjoyed the verbal banter and the tongue and cheek! Matthew Landon, as the waiter show that he is a talented comedic actor as well James Fulater as Alphie. James shows a dark witty hit man with sense of confusion with disillusions of his carrier path in life as he shares with Lance Zurek playing (Gus) a smart ass embittered mob boss in hiding. You'll enjoy this movie from the bathroom scene to the mumbling cook! I loved the ending! This is a Keeper for the days you want to enjoy a good book, but on film! Get it, keep it, and watch it over and over!
