The Legend Of The Cup
AaronCapenBanner29 September 2014
The biblical story of the cup of Christ drunk at the last supper, then taken to Britain after the crucification, where it was later lost, is the subject this time. Episode details both the traditional legend, which involves the court of King Arthur, and how Sir Galahad led the quest for the cup, and how he confronted the fisher king, is explored, as is the more historical-based account, which experts claim is closer to the truth, if less romantic... Either way, this episode offers an interesting and atmospheric version, which would later be filmed as "Excalibur"(1981), and of course who can forget "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade"(1989)!

In Search Of... "The Holy Grail" (1980)

This episode takes a look at the Christian legend surrounding the silver chalice that Jesus used at the Last Supper. The episode takes a look at what many consider to be the original chalice but we also hear from skeptics. For the most part this here is a slightly entertaining episode that will probably appeal to historians of the Bible more than your casual fan of the series. I thought the interviews themselves were good and the subject itself is an interesting one. The only problem was some of the re-enactments were rather poor and not all that captivating.
