If the title doesn't give it away. I will. This is a spoof of the series Punk'd but using Dark Lord instead of Ashton Kutcher and using a Jedi Knight as the victim of the practical joke. I'm not a really big fan of Punk'd but have seen a few episodes and admit that it is funny to see the rich and famous crying or stressed. So I'm familiar with the visual style of the show (if there is such a thing to a "hidden camera" show) and have to concede that this film did ape it well.
The problem I had with it though was that it was not particularly funny or clever. The practical joke lacked any sort of imagination or wit things that you would normally put high on a wish list if you were working on a spoof. The Star Wars theme is incidental. I would have preferred the Punk's spoof if it had played on a bigger scale rather than something breaking (which is not really how Punk'd works). Too simple for my tastes then but I suppose it will amuse those who laugh at seeing Star Wars characters take out of Lucas's increasingly pompous universe and put down elsewhere.
