The Final Destination franchise is returning to life with a brand new movie, and we’ve learned that filming is underway this week. Additionally, we now have an official title!
The sixth installment in the saga is titled Final Destination: Bloodlines.
Producer Craig Perry writes on social media this week, “After a long, hard slog through the pandemic and the strikes, Day One is finally in the can. 2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the first installment in the franchise. To honor the occasion with another worldwide theatrical release is a rare and wonderful thing.”
Perry’s post continues, “See you next year! Ps: I know, I know — Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. But this is the title we’ve had for three years, and we’re keeping it… for now.”
Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Freaks) are directing the fresh installment.

What can we expect from the upcoming Final Destination 6? Speaking with Collider, franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick has offered up an intriguing (and mysterious) tease.
Building upon comments he made to Dread Central last year, Reddick suggests – without saying too much – that Final Destination 6 will add a whole new layer to the franchise.
“This film dives into the film in such a unique way that it attacks it from a different angle so you don’t feel like, ‘Oh, there’s an amazing setup and then there’s gonna be one wrinkle that can potentially save you all that you have to kind of make a moral choice about or do to solve it.’ There’s an expansion of...

Syfy launches its new werewolf series "Bitten" tonight, and Steve Lund, who portrays flirtatious and playful werewolf Nick Sorrento, sat down with Dread Central to talk about his character, his co-stars, and what's in store for audiences. We have the details along with a new trailer!
We asked him to briefly describe the show and Nick. "[It] is based on the Canadian novel series Women of the Otherworld, written by Kelley Armstrong, who is a Toronto-based novelist," Lund said. "The story centers around the only non-male werewolf, Elena Michaels, and follows her through her battle between her werewolf life and her desire to have a normal human life."
"My character is Nick Sorrentino, who is one of the resident werewolves at the werewolf headquarters, Stonehaven, and my family has been in the werewolf game for generations. My grandfather was a former pack alpha, and my father is sort of the accountant for the group.

With its new werewolf series debuting tonight, Syfy recently held a press call with star Laura Vandervoort and Kelley Armstrong, author of the Women of the Otherworld series on which the show is based; and we have the Top 6 Things You Should Know About "Bitten" before watching the premiere.
Star Laura Vandervoort really does know martial arts.
Vandervoort elaborates: I grew up doing martial arts. So Elena feels like the other part of me. I relate to so much about her. Obviously not the werewolf part, but the fact that she can take care of herself physically... the writers [even] wrote in some extra hand-to-hand combat scenes. And especially in the finale -- we have this epic fight that I just had a great time doing. We had great stunt coordinators that help us incorporate the animalistic side to the fighting. It wasn't a part of the audition, but I think...

Patty Schemel is best remembered as the drummer of the alternative rock group Hole, fronted by erstwhile alt-queen rocker, now-notorious loudmouth Courtney Love. For top level context, Schemel laid the thunderous beat on both of Hole’s most popular and well-known records, including 1994’s Live Through This, which was released just four days after frontwoman Courtney Love's husband, Kurt Cobain, was found dead in their home. This is all well-documented. What only the most hardcore of rock aficionados will remember was that Schemel’s drum parts on 1997’s follow-up record Celebrity Skin were replaced by a session drummer at the behest of producer Michael Beinhorn (knob-twiddler for records like Soundgarden's Superunknown, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Mother's Milk and Grave Dancers Union by Soul Asylum).

Greek mythology is popular in Hollywood at present, and so are legal dramas.
Bluewater Productions' cornerstone title 10th Muse handily combines both genres and, recognising its potential, Vanquish Motion Pictures has snapped up the rights to adapt it into a TV show.
The comic book, which has been running since 2001, centres on a young law intern imbued with the essence of the Greek goddess of justice.
Vmp head Jay Douglas, who will executive-produce the series with partner Nav Gupta, Marc Manus and Bluewater's Darren Davis, said: "We're going to sink our teeth into Darren's treasure chest of storylines and spin them into a show that kicks ass with all the mystery and action the fans would expect."
"I'm really excited to dive into this world that Davis has created. The characters and Emma's central dilemma are rich and interesting - I think they'll prove a fantastic engine for a long-running series.

At some point last week, when everyone was discussing just why Nicolas Cage had taken another role in a completely disposable action movie, someone mentioned that Cage is taking roles that Val Kilmer used to do, and is better at. Now Kilmer might have a chance to prove that person right, since he's taking a role in Fake Identity, a thriller that sounds exactly like the kind of thing Cage might jump on board as well. Variety writes that Kilmer will play an American doctor working in Chechnya, until he helps a woman escape an assailant and his life is turned upside-down. Dennis Dimster-Denk, which sounds like a name out of a Shel Silverstein poem, will direct. Dimster-Denk has previous directed episodes of a TV show I've never heard of, Wicked Wicked Games, which has the tagline "Revenge is a dish best served crazy!" MyNetworkTV is considering cutting back on its strategy of "all telenovelas, all the time," sources said.
The network, which launched Sept. 5, has a schedule comprising two 13-week drama strips, with new episodes airing Monday-Friday and hourlong recaps airing Saturday.
But in light of underwhelming ratings for the dramas, network executives are exploring other options, which could include reducing the number of nights on which the dramas air or throwing nondrama series programming into the mix, sources said.
The first two dramas, Desire and the Bo Derek-Morgan Fairchild starrer Fashion House, each averaged a 0.7 household rating/1 share over their 13-week run.
The newest dramas -- Wicked Wicked Games, starring Tatum O'Neal, and Watch Over Me, starring Casper Van Dien and Catherine Oxenberg -- debuted Dec. 6. In their first week on the air (a partial week consisting of three days because the shows debuted on a Wednesday), Games averaged a 0.7/1 among households, while Watch averaged a 0.6/1.
As for any possible on-air changes, it's believed there's no timetable for a potential revamping of the programming strategy.
