Buck Angel documentary ‘Mr. Angel’ - about the life of the transgender adult star - available on DVD in December In the United States, it’s Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 28, 2013. It’s an inspirational time of the year for millions, so what’s more appropriate than the December 3 release of QC Cinema’s DVD Mr. Angel? Directed by Dan Hunt, Mr. Angel is described in the film’s press release as "an inspirational story of rare perseverance" that features "an unlikely hero": Buck Angel, himself described as a "transgender advocate, educator, and porn pioneer." As found in the SXSW Film Festival’s synopsis of Mr. Angel, Buck Angel "was born female yet always knew he was male." His parents raised him as a boy until he reached adolescence, and that’s when things took a downhill turn: drug addiction, homelessness, suicide attempts. Eventually, Buck Angel underwent a double mastectomy.

It was one year ago a group of excited journalists traveled to Vancouver to visit the set of Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch. This is Zack's first original film that isn't based off of a previous work, so it'll be interesting to see how the director handles his own original material. Since this is a preview piece, I can't talk about what I saw in detail, but I can talk about who I talked to and we also have a nice exclusive image for you to check out. We spoke to pretty much everyone on set. Debra Snyder took us around and showed all the cool pre-production artwork on the walls. Some really crazy designs that are going to look awesome in the movie. You saw some of the images already come to life in the Comic-Con footage that was shown this year. We also saw a scene being shot,...

Details on Zack Snyder’s latest action-fest have been few and far between while Warner Brothers promote the owl flick Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, but now Snyder’s animation début is behind us the iron curtain is starting to lift.
Warner Brothers have released the official plot synopsis for their March 2011 blockbuster, Sucker Punch and it sounds like the project is heading for a grungy over-the-top Grindhouse take on Pan’s Labyrinth.
This will be the first of Zack Snyder’s films that has been written by the rising director and being set partially in the imagination of a character will certainly allow him try any number of crazy slow motion battles. Bring on the giant samurai!

Brand new pictures from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" have popped out. Debuted via Empire Online, the images give a look at two different scenes. One picture, which is used as news photo, sees Harry Potter being cornered by Remus Lupin, while the other one shows the young wizard and his two best friends sitting in front of Rufus Scrimgeour.
At almost the same time, a fresh official image from "Sucker Punch" is posted on the official website of Cruel and Unusual Films, which is Zack Snyder's production company. While the still does not capture any of the film's characters, it shares an amazing scene where a dragon fights a plane in the sky, with the background of some explosions.
Serving as the latest installment of "Harry Potter" film franchise, "Deathly Hallows" will be split into two parts. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" is due November 19 in both the U.

Yup, you read that headline right. Over at his production companies website, Cruel and Unusual Films, Zack Snyder has released a new photo from Sucker Punch. And yes, it has a dragon fighting an airplane. And I thought flying a tank from The A-Team was crazy. But if anything, this image sure does peak my interest. And makes me want to see Dragonheart again. “How many dragons do you know?” But I digress.
Sucker Punch is due out on March 25, 2011. The story tells of Babydoll (Emily Browning), a woman sent to a mental institution by her stepfather, who plans on having her lobotomized in five days. While in the ward, Babydoll begins to imagine an alternate reality in which to protect her from her pain. In this reality, Babydoll most collect five objects in order to escape from a vile man planning to deflower her. It also includes B-25 bombers,...

With the movies Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen and the upcoming Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (a.k.a., “The 3-D Animated Movie That Looks Like Lord of the Rings With Cool Owls”), Zack Snyder has become one of Hollywood’s most important and successful directors here in the current Geek Renaissance era of entertainment. Snyder has embraced the role of pulp cinema poet laureate (specialty: lyrical, slow-motion studies of punched faces or kicked bodies flying through the air), and, as such, has made it a priority to do the Joss Whedon and Kevin Smith thing...

Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch promises to be one hell of a ride. Hell, the short, 1:26 teaser trailer was so jam-packed full of awesome that it took 55 screen caps to try and make sense of it. One of the coolest features of the film is how it is approaching its fantastic elements, putting robots in medieval settings and creatures of fantasy in World War I. It's that kind of mix that's going to make the film even more badass and it's well-featured in the first still from the film. Cruel and Unusual Films (Snyder's production company) has posted the first official image from the film and features a dragon dogfighting with an airplane. That needs to be repeated: a dragon dogfighting with an airplane. It's already been established through Snyder's previous films that he has an incredible vision, but now he's completely free of restraint, no source material holding him back.

The good news: Microsoft and Epic Games have acknowledged the existence of another “Gears of War” game for the Xbox 360. In fact, they’ve gone as far as to unleash a surprisingly artistic trailer for the upcoming project. The bad news: The game doesn’t ship until April of 2011. That’s right — you’re gonna have to wait an entire year to get your hands on a copy. Cruel and unusual, that is. As someone who’s never played “Gears of War” or “Gears of War 2″, I suppose I have plenty of time to get caught up. Assuming, of course, I can pull myself away from “Fallout 3″ long enough to try them out. Here’s the trailer. I must admit, I’m thoroughly impressed.

Cruel and unusual punishment tonight for the results and elimination for "American Idol," as the show revealed its top 12 finalists, and host Ryan Seacrest warned viewers, "We could be in for a surprise or two." Understatement of the year. The 20 finalists were in a choreographed song that opened the show, and it must be mentioned that the entire group looked like the wardrobe department raided the local Salvation Army or American Thrift in Burbank to outfit everyone. Nothing looked good on anyone. First eliminations were Katelyn Epperly and Todrick Hall, and Hall just burned down the stage with his Queen cover. His final words were classy. "I'm just really grateful," said Hall. "This has been an awesome...
