Dexter says the mystery blood was "loaded with Coumadin and heparin," and Masuka explains, "One is an anticoagulant, the other is a preservative." Both are anticoagulants. Coumadin is an oral anticoagulant that works with the liver to decrease the clotting factors in a person's blood. Heparin is injected intravenously and is typically used in the short term. The ice truck killer would have had to give Coumadin to his victims for 3-4 days (while keeping them alive) for it to thin their blood but he could have given heparin just minutes before he killed them. As a former medical student Dexter would have known that.
Rita is investigated by officers identifying themselves as being with the Dade County Sheriff's Department, which stopped calling itself that in 1957 with the establishment of metropolitan government in Dade County, Florida and has been known as the Miami-Dade Police Department since 1997.
Rita is meeting with her lawyer after being criminally charged. The lawyer mentions that Rita has a "deposition" in two days and urges her not to give him any more "ammunition." It is usually the defense that arranges depositions of witnesses as they are entitled to all the evidence possessed by the prosecution. A defendant would never be subjected to a deposition as they have the right to remain silent and cannot be compelled to provide evidence against themselves.
It is not necessary to administer a anticoagulants to victims before killing them just to prevent their blood from clotting. A killer might just as well add substances to the blood after harvesting it in order to achieve that, like citrate, same as is done with medical donor blood.
When Rudy comes over with the 'porterhouse' steaks, it can clearly be seen that they are in fact T-bone steaks. When Debra confronts Dexter the following day, complaining about Dexter being able to communicate with Rudy but not to her, she even calls them T-bone steaks. For some reason Dexter corrects her with the incorrect name, porterhouse steaks.
When Angel is talking to the prostitute about her prosthetic hand and why she has painted the nails, the thumb on the prosthetic hand moves.
After Dexter gets the jar of blood they cut to Debra getting out of a red car. The crane is clearly reflected in the rear windshield.
After Rudy has dinner with Dexter, they stand outside Dexter's apartment. Over Rudy's right shoulder you can see the glass window vents gradually closing. Obviously a crew member attempting to reduce glare.
When Dexter returns to the hotel room, the steadicam spins around him and the shadow can be briefly seen on Dexter.
The Mexican Fan Palms outside the hotel where the murder occurs are much too tall to be in Miami. Though Mexican Fan Palms have been naturalized in Florida, because of the high humidity and lightning, they never grow as tall as in California.
