In this second episode, the boys get a grim dose of reality with gruff PE teacher Mr Foster - who takes no prisoners as he lays down the law to his new games class.
This time it's Benny's turn to be late for class - and he soon learns a quick lesson about going through the correct door.
Benny's a talented young footballer, but his lack of a proper kit - and most importantly football boots - rules him out of the after-school trials.
Maybe with some 'help' from Tucker, and also from his kindly form tutor, a solution can be found...
This episode really captures the sense apprehension and foreboding often felt in a 1970s comprehensive PE class - and Roger Sloman is wonderful as the barking and un-PC Mr Foster, whom you really don't want to get on the wrong side of!
There's also some great camaraderie between Tucker and his new gang of hoodlums here - contrasting rather nicely with the more sensible and emotionally-mature behaviour of the girls in their peer group.
