If "The Thing" prequel is set to showcase anything at all, it has to be the alien-induced slaughter at the Norwegian camp site. Thus far, though, only Americans have been announced in terms of casting. Is it time that we finally get the names of the aforementioned Crazy Swedes? Shock Till You Drop and Bloody Disgusting report that they've been tipped off to the identities of the actors who will fall victim to the shapeshifting creatures ... According to their sources Eric Christian Olsen ("Not Another Teen Movie", "Community"), Dennis Storhøi ("The 13th Warrior"), Trond Espen Seim ("The Frost"), Jørgen Langhelle ("Svik"), Stig Henrik Hoff, Jan Gunnar Røise, Kristofer Hivju ("Manhunt"), and Jo Adrian have joined the already announced Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel...

Authenticity seems to be the order of the day on the set of The Thing prequel. Anyone worried by the thought of Norwegian scientists being played by a bunch of American actors saying 'ja' may breathe a sigh of relief - the latest casting news from Matthijs van Heijningen Jr's project suggests there may well be some actual Norwegians involved. The 13th Warrior’s Dennis Storhoi, The Frost’s Trond Espen Seim and Svik’s Jordan Langhelle are all onboard along with Stig Henrik Hoff, Jan Gunnar Roise, Kristofer...

We spoke recently about the Norwegian mother tongue being used extensively (with English Subs) in the prequel to the original, sweet Sci-Fi horror candy, “The Thing”, just about to get filming in British Columbia and Toronto. Who better to speak the words of Norway then actual live Norwegians? Many have just been signed to the cast and we find them good. Dennis Storhøi (The 13th Warrior), Trond Espen Seim (The Frost), Jørgen Langhelle (Svik), Stig Henrik Hoff, Jan Gunnar Røise, Kristofer Hivju (Manhunt) and Jo Adrian Haavind are getting into the fray. Man, Norwegians have cool names. Thanks Bloody Disgusting for the word.

Filling up some of the Norwegians, Dennis Storhøi (The 13th Warrior), Trond Espen Seim (The Frost), Jørgen Langhelle (Svik), Stig Henrik Hoff, Jan Gunnar Røise, Kristofer Hivju (Manhunt) and Jo Adrian Haavind have all been cast in Universal Pictures and Strike Entertainment's The Thing. They join the previously announced casting of Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton. Being helmed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., in a remote Antarctica outpost, an alien spaceship is discovered far beneath the ice. When a group of ambitious scientists decide to thaw out one of the creatures inside, they're in for the terrifying fight of their lives...

The 30th anniversary of Fangoria magazine will be honored at a special panel to be held at the 42nd edition of Spain’s prestigious Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, to be held October 1-12. Longtime Fango editor Tony Timpone will be attending, joined by British correspondents Alan Jones, Calum Waddell and Axelle Carolyn, as well as Italian correspondent Roberto D’Onofrio. The Fango salute will take place on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. in the Tramuntana Room at the Meliá Hotel.
“For the last 30 years, Fangoria has been the cornerstone of the Sitges program’s diet,” says festival director Angel Sala, “the number-one source of information to feed the bowels of the beast. Fango has been the written witness of the horror scene around the world for over three decades. Sitges can only bow and pay due respect with a celebration for the fans.”
