In Search Of... "Ghostly Stakeout" (1979)

Ghost hunting is the subject of this episode, which turns out to be one of the more interesting ones in the series. Psychic Silvia Brown, who would become more famous appearing on the Montel Williams show, goes into a supposed haunted house to try and find out who is the ghost and why she is there. This is a pretty strong episode as the story itself is quite good and the re-enactments are also quite good. This one offers up some real atmosphere and I think it stands out among the various ghost episodes up to this point. If you're a fan of ghosts or just the series in general then you'll certainly be entertained by this one.

Ghostly Encounters

Marvelous episode is a worthy companion piece to the equally marvelous episode 'Ghosts' from the first season. Here, Mr. Nimoy memorably makes his entrance in a spooky, dimly lit stairwell, as a team of two psychics investigate two separate haunted houses in California, both centered around premature death, lost loves, and tragedy, and whole episode is incredibly atmospheric, with eerie photography, evocative direction, and indeed the two stories are most interesting, and, although there are no definitive answers provided to either haunting, it is pointed out that sometimes the spirits are unable to move on into the light. Equally eerie and memorable fade-out in this classic outing.

Starts out strong!

Warning: Spoilers
There is a couple psychic investigations into two California haunting s. Nimoy's narrations, appearances, spooky music, witness experiences, and haunted reenactments are great. I give the first half of Ghostly Stakeout as scary. 9 stars out of 10. Then there is the theories, conjecture and people talking to walls etc. All speculative. Found it silly, like watching one of those Ghost shows on t v. The second half of Ghostly Stakeout is a 3 out of 10. I could watch Ghostly Stakeout once. Divided by two Ghostly Stakeout is a six out of 10
