Man Of Evil

Compelling episode sees the "In Search Of..." team take on a new role: fugitive hunters, in this case fugitive Nazi scientist Josef Mengele, who was tracked down to Paraguay by Jewish Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal, who made it a priority to see the most wanted Nazi brought to justice for his evil crimes against humanity during World War II, where he conducted inhuman experiments that killed countless concentration camp prisoners. Mengele was always just one step ahead of his pursuers, but fortunately, although he wasn't captured in the series, about a year after it aired he died, thus ending the pursuit of this infamous and notorious man.

The episode goes into Simon Wiesenthal hunt for Mengele. Mengele was nearly captured a few times. South America areas where Mengele resided in is explained. In Search Of... "The Angel of Death" (1979)

Nazi scientist Josef Mengele is the subject of this episode as we learn about the horrors that he was involved in during World War II and how he escaped Germany and has pretty much been on the run ever since. We hear from groups of people who are trying to track him down and we hear about the various close calls. If you're a fan of history then you're obviously going to love this episode and I'm sure it will appeal to history buffs more than the series' average viewer. There's no question that the subject itself is an interesting one but when the episode ends you'll have to research and see what followed.
