Great back ground. The mod and the government are also mentioned. The history builds up to Hoffa's release from prison and wanting to regain the Teamsters presidency. The facts are replayed, and interviews give insight. There is no resolution to the episode, which make Jimmy Hoffa such an interesting episode. Nine stars. One of the more memorable episodes of the In search of series.

In Search Of... "Jimmy Hoffa" (1980)
Here's another excellent episode with this one taking a look at the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. The episode starts off talking about Hoffa's rise to power and then we get down to his disappearance and what might have possibly happened to him. Needless to say, watching this episode 36 years after it aired makes you realize that we're still no closer to solving the case than they were when this first played. It's rather amazing that nothing has happened in all these years but the episode makes its claim that it was a Mob hit. Also discussed is the motive, which could even be linked to the Kennedy assassination. If you're a fan of the series then you'll certainly enjoy this episode because the story itself is just one of the greatest mysteries of any era. Even though we're no closer today to knowing what really happened this episode is certainly very entertaining.

Excellent episode is a return to form as it examines the intriguing mystery surrounding the disappearance and presumed murder of Teamster Labor leader Jimmy Hoffa, who went missing in late July, 1975 outside a restaurant, never to be seen or heard from again. Hoffa was quite popular with the union members, but accusations of corruption plagued him, leading into congressional investigations and eventual prison time. Once released, his plans to regain power in the union were cut short... Fascinating and compelling look at this complicated man offers much informed speculation by experts as to Hoffa's ultimate fate, which still generates much interest today.
